Must have been talking about the French version of the Marines and the Girl Scouts in France.

I can't think of anything French have successfully fought for or defended in my lifetime... 65 years.

If it wasn't for our wimpy, untrained, jokes, France would be part of Germany... as would most of Europe.

You can have rugby. And you can train until your little heart's content. Those are of absolutely no consequence. In conventional warfare, we lose only one to twenty of the enemy... in some cases the ratio is one to fifty... and in my outfit it was more like one to 200.

But battle fields where the two armies line up on opposite sides of a disputed piece of real estate and shoot at each other until one side is wiped out, or decides that the real estate isn't worth the cost... that's pretty much gone.

Battle fields can be entire countries... or not property at all, rather ideologies. The weapons are fired from hundreds of miles away and hit targets with amazing accuracy. There are weapons that can be fired from half way around the world.

Navies do not consist of ships and guns. They consist of carrier groups with missiles and planes.

All this is supposed to be a deterrent. It is hoped that these will never have to be deployed.

But we are way beyond conventional man-to-man combat. That's a thing of the past. There are no "front lines" any more. There is no opposing army. You can't see the enemy. He refuses to engage. He uses our rules of engagement against us. He hides among non-combatants. He hides in sanctuaries where we're not allowed to go. He wants to kill and wants to die in the process. When that kind of enemy faces us, all that weaponry is deployed against him. And that weaponry is manned by one of the best trained, best equipped fighting forces in the world.

Are your trying to stir up hate among between the French and the Americans?

man at first I thought I will summon that red flag critter for violating community guidelines. what type of answer do you expect to get?

no, the girl scouts are not tougher than marines
it is probably french hoasx, or more likely your personal frustrastion being vented.
they are not that bad.
frech paratroops are probably good.
dont know
no, special forces are the elite of any army
I sincerely doubt that french would crush American team on rugby.

Finally war is not fair. it is chess, where you have equal pieces and even there One is starting, so it is not fair.

When you go to war you fight with what you have, and so does the enemy. there is no jury and no rules in the war. Hope this helps.

The Girl Scouts here are tougher than the average French soldier. Try to get the cookies without paying for them, and find out.

here's what i love, france acts like the toughest country in the world....until they actually need something at which point their world perception completely changes. they reason they are saying this is because american is such an easy target to talk about. I am sure that french soldiers are tough...but if they're so tough, why have they asked american soldiers to bail them out of 3 different wars? because they were on the losing end of more wars than any other "western" country in this world's history...finally, i love france! it's a great place to visit. however, outside of great beauty, museums, and nice wine, what do they really have to offer this world? they're a semi-medium sized country with a medium sized wealth. they don't really produce any products that are necessary for this world to survive. here's my favorite thing. they will log onto yahoo answers and slam americans and say that they don't need americans...when in fact, this very forum that they are writing on IS AMERICAN. YES, French Yahoo answers is also an american company, we were just nice enough to make one for the french to use....

You have to remember this, we have large enough conventional warheads to destroy your country in 60 seconds with a BG class x. attack.

Also if you got close we would smear you across the hills of europe.

French are pathetic.

Brought to you by the same country that hasn't defended itself for 150 years...what a joke. France needs to stick to what it knows, charging backwards.
