For the past 6 months I've been so disgusted with fat that I've ate the minimal amount of food that I could get by on (usually a maximum of 300 calories a day, to which I worked off at the gym) But I want to get back to eating the 1,500 calories a day. If I jump back into eating 1,500 per day, will I gain weight or should I gradually climb up to the suggested caloric intake?

It is not healthy eating only 300 calories a day it sound Anorexic to me. You do not have to jump all the way back to eating 1500 right away you could increase little by little try to make sure that you include all food groups in you diet as you eat a little more. little by littler will allow your body to adjust. 1500 calories should not make you gain bad weight you may gain because you will have muscle now and muscle weights more than fat since you are toning up with the exercise you are doing. You will look fine. My Son cut trans fat out of his diet and has lost 30 lbs, however he was overweight but he looks much better now. He has be swimming and walking more too.

I'm impressed that you aren't dead! Most nutritionists don't reccomend any LESS than 1,500 calories per day. I'm sure that you'll be fine going back to 1,500, especially if you continue to work out at the gym. You may even want more, make sure to watch out for your health, because if you don't eat enough it could lead to serious problems --- eating disorders, and your body may start to starve itself and eat your organs for energy.

increase calories to 400, then 500 and so on..keep a log of your weight and the foods your adding on. yes your weight may go up a little but thats normal as long as its just a little and you monitor it.
have your main meal for lunch
brush your teeth after dinner and use mouthwash to kill your appetite
and try to go to bed early to avoid late night munchies
good luck

Yes, unless you eat more fruits and vegetables. Alot of vegetables. Little fat, little salt. No white bread, pasta or potatoes. Try to eat as clean as possible. A vegetarian diet would help.
