My teeth are hurting and I have no insurance as of now. I am not covered at work since i am considered part time. My boss is actually in the same situation as she hasn't been with the company for the mandatory period of time...3 months I think. She told me I can buy coverage on the side. But how soon can I use my coverage? And is it like a cell phone contract where you gotta sign on for x number of years? thanks!

Get on the eHealthPlus plan. It has no waiting periods
and no contracts.
Most every dental insurance has waiting periods.

Some planslet you use it right away. Depending on the company that you use you have to go by their rules. So what every company you decide to go with call them and ask these questions so that you know what you are getting into and also ask them what they cover and how much you would have to come out of pocket.
