Most nematodes are free-living in soil and water, not parasitic.

The reason nematodes are not considered to be decomposers is that they eat with a mouth. Decomposers secrete enzymes to digest material in the environment, and then they absorb the digested matter. That's why bacteria, molds, mushrooms, and slime molds are all decomposers.

Not really. They are mostly parasitic and eat organisms ranging from bacteria to small animals.
