Firstly make sure your skin is moisturized and exfoliated, paying particular attention to the knees, elbows and heels/feet. This helps prevent the dry patches of skin that may soak in more dye and become much darker than the overall skin color.
Get some help if wanting to apply it to the back and other hard to reach places. Some one doing that for you can help to prevent streaks and bare patches - not a nice look.
You may want to use gloves, because it will color your palms as well.
Apply thinly and evenly, working on one area at a time, making sure that you don't put too much on knees and elbows. Don't know this particular product, but sometimes using a moist makeup sponge can help with applying it evenly. Allow time for it to dry or "fix".
Be prepared to stand for a while, as if it is allowed to get into creases (back of the knees, inner elbow, under arms) it will leave darker lines there.
Make sure that you have an old towel or something and be aware that it may "tan" (stain) other things it comes in contact with, like fabric.
And make sure that the shade you choose compliments you overall coloring, and above all avoid that sickly orange of some fake tans. Remember that it is a fake tan, and protect your skin on sun exposure.

How? Very carefully. If you have a brand that has some visible color so you can see where it's going, that helps. If not, you need to be doubly careful. Some key tips:

1. Plan to take your time. Rushing will not give you good results.

2. Exfoliate and moisturize first. Scrub your skin all over to get rid of dead skin cells and dry patches. This is important to avoid getting weird patchy color, especially around knees and elbows. Then apply a good, light moisturizer everywhere you plan to use the tanner. Allow enough time for the moisturizer to be absorbed completely by your skin -- an hour maybe. At least 20 minutes.

3. Lightly buff your skin with a towel to make sure there are no moist or oily spots or anyplace where the moisturizer wasn't completely absorbed.

4. Apply the self-tanner in smallish amounts -- dollops about the size of a quarter at one time -- and massage it in thoroughly and evenly wherever the sun would naturally hit you when you are outside. For instance: Do NOT allow globs to build up between your toes and fingers or the bends of your elbows and knees.

5. Too little is better than too much. You can always add another layer if you want darker color, but if you put on too much in the wrong places starting out, you will not be happy with your look.

5. Rub you skin evenly in long strokes up and down your legs and arms etc. so the tanner is evenly distributed and thoroughly massaged into your skin.

6. Scrub the palms of your hands and in between your fingers to avoid unnatural color.

7. Don't get dressed for at least 15 minutes to allow the tanner to soak into your skin.

I know it sounds like a lot, but if you are very careful starting out, you will see how your skin reacts to the tanner, and you can adjust future applications as needed.

Enjoy your bronzed look!

NO, they don't work i've tried several different brands including jergens natural glow & express, and banana boat they just make you orange and streaky and smelling really bad its so much work too, like its too much trouble and hassle, and in the end no matter what it still doesn't look good or natural you should consider just going to a tanning bed tanning is actually pretty good for you when done in moderation moderation is the key, and basically any human activity can kill you if you do it too much tanning in moderation gives you vitamin D(which many people are defficient of) and it helps your mood out by making serotonin in your brain the media makes tanning seem a whole lot worse than it really is. if you want to know more just search up 'tanning truth' or 'tanning benefits' on google I hope this helps (:

Well you could try reading the directions that all body products under FCA regulations must apply to their bottles. And relaly you shouldnt need to look at directions, its sort of a no brainer. I mean im a boy and never have even thought about using something like tan lotion, yet I know you simply rub it on in a single smooth layer, dont leave any clump unless you wanna look like a giraffe. And from what IVe seen, stay away or atleast go light on the hands and feet, or any other wrinkly areas like these. Im tired of seeing fine women at the store and etc., with orange feet and yellow hands.

Exfoliate, if your dry, apply a little moisturizer... apply self tanner to desired areas. Start in one area then move on.
Let devlope.
Apply body moisturizers when tan is fully developed... keep it moisturized.

However you end up doing it, make sure that you wash it off of your hands afterwards. My friend put on some once, and she didn't wash it off her hands, and her palms were orange for weeks afterward.
