Not "every American" has to file federal income taxes. Only persons who make at least a certain amount do. Amish persons who make less than that amount (or nothing), like every American making the amount that they do, do not have to file. Like every American, an Amish person does not have to file unless he or she makes whatever the minimum is.

The Amish are allowed to opt out of social security on income from self-employment. Clergy can make that election too. Otherwise they are treated like everybody else.

ALL americans that live here have to. Even if there isnt income. It still has to be filled out.

Even homeless people are supposed to.

the amish dont have to pay tax's just like they dont have to go to school after 8th grade..
