yes.
I reheated some food from a carryout restraunt that came in one of those white styrofoam containers.
I nuked it for a long time, and the bottom corners of the foam started to melt and got deformed. The food started to leak out and everything.

Some cheese will melt better than others, microwave or anywhere. But generally the best thing is to cut it into small pieces and stop frequently to stir it. You can also take it out before it's entirely melted--the heat of the melted parts will melt the rest as you stir it. Do it on low power. Depending how you're going to use it, you can add milk or other liquid. Like if you want to make quickie nacho sauce from velveeta (which melts well without separating), cube it up, add some milk and a little juice from a jar of jalepenos, and nuke it for 30 seconds or so at a time, stirring. It will be thin, but thicken quickly as it cools/as you pour it.

It only melts if it has some very hot food touching it that overheats it at a few spots.
Two examples would be if you put your coffee in a Styrofoam cup, You could heat the coffee back to boiling with no cup damage. However the other example would be if you heated up some spare ribs with sugary sauce in a Styrofoam takeout box. The sauce would get so hot in localized areas that some parts of the box would melt on contact with that superheated sauce.

Styrofoam can and will melt in the microwave. You can safely reheat food in a styrofoam container (healthwise) but you should not leave the microwave unattended as styrofoam can also catch on fire in the microwave. Styrofoam can even catch on fire when using the defrost function of your microwave. I'm an experienced chef and was surprised to learn this first-hand too many times!!

it depends on if you leave the lid closed in the microwave or not, ive had no problem with it melting with the lid open but when the lid is closed all the steam builds up inside of it and the steam is super-hot so that does melt the styrofoam

I microwave left over pasta all the time in take out styrofoam, as long as you don't heat it forever it will be just fine. I actually like it cause it helps keep the pasta from drying out/
