Well in theory he could make that boulder. But then in theory, he can also lift anything. Uh-oh, my brain hurts.

I've always thought that that was an interesting and funny question. And I'm not now going to insult you intelligence or age like these other answerers here. It is a normal philosophical question that cannot be answered either way, and I am amazed that people got butt-hurt about this question.

He could create a huge boulder, because He can do ANYTHING! It would be massive and,... wait... too big to lift? He.... then it would....

and then....

wait, confusion setting in.... cannot fathom the question.... help me..... people are looking at me!... hurry up!... SAY something....

Uh.... John 3:16... "For God so loved the world......:"

There are more clever ways of playing the idea of omnipotence against itself or any other of the "omnis" attributed to a deity. For instance, can God create another God, given that part of what defines "God" is that he/she/it is uncreated? Can God make a being that knows more, is more powerful, etc? Can God cease to exist? Your question is important, but ultimately fails because it amounts to anthropomorphism.

Of course, one somewhat standard response is that God is beyond logic, but that rules out saying anything else about such a being. Another is to say belief is not intellectual but faith based. Faith flew planes into buildings, so that leaves much to be desired also.

Man, how did that pop up in ur mind??? I don't think so. He can do anything he wants. He could, but it would not be the boulder that's too heavy. He would make himself have less strength. That is only my opinion.GOOD LUCK!

By the answers given here its obvious no one realizes that this philosophical question proves god is not all-powerful. But of course the theists resort to insults. Wheres the love, the compassion, the tolerance they claim to practice? "By their works you shall know them." Take comfort in the fact that those with an IQ higher than 70, understand your question.
