How do you know how long a bi-polar episode lasts? They aren't all the same a lot of it depends on the person having their episodes and what other mental illness they might be dealing with at the same time. Not talking to anyone won't help you because we aren't professionals and if there are any professionals here that don't suggest that you go to your own professionals than they aren't very ethical. You cant get a full and accurate diagnoses with out all of the perniate information starting with a health history and a mental health history. They should also do a social- psycho history and a family history. The best way that you can get help it to talk to a real life person someone who can really tell what you're saying. On here you can say anything and no one would know if you were telling the truth someone looking at you probably would. Is that the reason that you're reluctant to talk to a real person IF it is you might want to think about it.

The length of a mood is old school thought regarding bipolar. You can have shifts in mood every hour. It's still bipolar. You can also have a mixed mood state, where you feel both emotions - up and down.

Have you seen a doctor? If not, do it and tell him/her about your racing thoughts and then your sudden change of mood. Let him/her give you the proper diagnosis.

Meanwhile, exercise is a good antidote. It relaxes your body and mind and releases endorphins.

I know what u mean. When I was in homeschool and even during the summer I felt like this. What made me feel better was going out and doing something (not really anything big, but like just going to the beach or whatever) made me feel better. Also try meditating and focus on things that give u a sense of tranquility. As for keeping emotional stuff inside, that's not particularly healthy. Vent as much as u can on this site, coz it can help u feel better. Hope this helps a little, I'm just blurting out some random stuff.

1. Talk to a doctor.
2. If you're sleeping less than 8 hours a night, try to get more sleep.
3. If you use a lot of caffeine, try to use less.
4. Deep breathing. Breathe in as deeply as possible, breathe out until your lungs are as empty as possible. Try to do that for at least five minutes a day or whenever you feel anxious or "wired."

I have depression and I have almost manic like symptoms if I am sleep deprived. I know what you mean. My younger brother has a diagnosis of bipolar, but my "manic" episodes are too brief to quality, they usually only last a few hours and it doesn't happen very often.

Hey dude ...
With the responsibilities that you have at your age ... it's really important for you to have time for yourself.
Everyone needs time for themselves ... no matter what age they are.
And you can try to add more to your life to try and balance personal activities out ... but really, you just need that certain time for yourself where you can do what you need to do to maintain your sanity ... where you can just have a break.

It's important to keep busy ... but it's also important to have time out so your body, mind and spirit can just slow down and relax for a bit before being rejuvinated enough to get up and go again. And i'm not talking about sleep.

Have a chat with your parents to organise some time out for yourself every once in a while.

I can't judge correctly considering I don't know you personally, but it seems like you've got too much on your shoulders and not enough personal time out.

Cheers darlz.

go get some therapy and get this stuff out. tell someone not just on here but friends and family. i think that we can all relate to these feelings where you just want to scream and you are overwhelmed. i feel that way too sometimes and i have to take some quiet time to myself away from the kids and husband. however there are rapid cyclers with being bi polar so don't completely rule that out. go talk to a psychiatrist and tell them how you feel and see what they say and how they can help. i hope that this helps

Racing thoughts can lead to self destruction, call someone now and talk with them about whats going on with you right now, you do need to seek professional help but in the mean time use all resources you can and if you do think you could be a danger to yourself go now to your nearest hospital.. Good Luck
