Haha, our Yom Kippur finished yesterday (I'm in New Zealand) and yes I was hungry throught he whole thing, but the thurst was much worst. Dumb me, I ate salty pasta before Kol Nidre and didn't drink enough water. I started with a little bit of salad to break the fast...wow did I know that, I threw up all my food after an hour...I've learned!! Hope your's was better. Shana Tova!!

If you find it stupid, you shouldnt do it. In my opinion I think when you do things like Yom Kippur you have to do it because it has meaning for you not because you're obligated to do so.If you're just doing it because you HAVE to and not because it's something you want to do, then it really has no meaning.

Instead of focusing on your hunger, take the time to sit down and think about what fasting means to you and how you can use the time you are not eating to meditate and become closer to God and a better person. That's the whole point.

My hubby and I did not fast this year.I am diabetic and he has a bad heart condition and we were told not to fast by our MD's. I skipped 1 meal and felt I tried, but my blood sugar was off because I skipped. Hubby didn't fast and it did not bother him at all,I'm sorry to say.
