It won't explode but the chemicals inside will get all over the place.

No. That juicy stuff is quite corrosive though, so wrap it in a paper towel and trash it. Then use another towel, wet it and clean up any mess from the leak. DO NOT use water to clean the device that the battery came out of if it leaked in it. Use rubbing alcohol on a small brush to clean the contacts. A cotton swab will work but be careful not to get the cotton caught on the contacts, make sure it is good and wet with the alcohol.

Not likely, but it can get acid on you and burn you
