Yes. Many people still use them as they have not yet gotten rid of their cameras or their vcr's. We are just now getting in to the era of buying a VCR/DVD-r to up load our tapes to dvd's. We (family) still have about 3 generations of stuff stored on vcr's and I am in no real hurry to convert it all just yet.

Not really anymore since there are DVDs. Plus VHS tapes tend to "erase" after awhile.

Possibly, if their content has not yet been released on DVD. But intrinsically, none, as there are way too many of them out there, and will be for a lot of years.
