when i look up, hes looking at me (we sit directly across from each other in english) and when we make eye contact he stares at me for a while and we dont break eye contact until I look away. then he smiles. does he like me?

He thinks you're cute at least, someone he wouldn't mind kissing- so take that as a good sign. A guy wouldn't do that to someone who he wouldn't want to do that to.
Imagine if it were reverse, a guy you find unatractive does this to you- you probably would just look away, right? But lets say a cute guy- or maybe even an average guy who you wouldn't mind going on a date with, maybe even a guy you might not have an active crush on looks up at you , you would probably smile because you are 1) flattered and enjoy the attention 2) you realize he's not too bad and you might not mind anything happening. He might think others are attractive to, and might even have a girlfriend, but he thinks you're attractive too. So, if you're not with someone and think he's a guy you wouldn't mind kissing- put him on your watch list! See what happens and let it flow. if he doesn't evenually as you out or anything even after getting to know him after class/casual small talk then it's no big deal, get another guy.

yes!! totally boys tend to stare too much if they like you or think you are really cute trust me( i have 4 bros.) i know why they do it, and also if you like him too, why don't you try to talk to him, and remenber try to look and sound smart and casual.

Rub your eyes with a clean hankie; he might have seen something that should not be there. ....of course he likes you but I also think he believes you like him.
