Oh Jessica, it's ok... I cut off and on too (trying to stop) so I know where you're coming from.
First, because you live in FL you naturally can't go wearing long sleeves... Do you have sweat bands? If not, you cna buy them at the store for like, $3 a pair or something. They're perfectly normal for hot weather and covers the wrist. Also, the way to make it heal ASAP is to do basic First Aid. While no one is around, wash the wound out with warm, soapy water and bandage it up. Don't go picking at it, only mass with it to wash it once a day. Like I said, you can hide the cut/bandages under the sweat band until it's better. Aside from that, DO NOT cut deeper... if it's on the wrist and you go deeper you could do more then break the skin... you could cut a blood vein and end up going to the ER. So hold tight Jessica, cover it for now, treat it as you would any other wound (hopefully this was your first and last). Wash it out, cover it, don't mass with it otherwise. It should be better in no time.

It could be an infection?.. did you break the skin? did it actually bleed? The best is to use polysporin on it but don't cover it, it needs to breath. Wear long sleeves for now. And definitely get some professional help because I'm a cutter myself and it won't get better until you find out why your doing it in the first place. I've been doing it for over 20 years, you'll do more mental harm to yourself then you'll even realize... Good Luck

i live in florida and wear sweaters and long sleeves everyday for the past 6 years...it is possible...
but has it healed? like is there no scab anymore? and it's just a pink scar? b/c if it is a pink scar...and bumpy...you'd need a cortisone shot to make it smooth out ..and that isn't cheap...my cortisone shots cost me $50 with insurance...and it will take months and months to turn and fade out to a close enough color to your natural skin tone...that is with cortisone shot...but without the shot it will take years and years to fadeout into your skin color...
i quit self harming for about 2 years...and i thought i should get cortisone shots b/c i had quite a few pink scars from the ones where i cut really deep and at an odd angle...the other ones i cut at a good angle and with a perfect razor so it didn't give me a pink and bumpy scar...
if you are determined to quit...i would say get a referral to a therapist and talk it out...b/c if this has turned into a full blown disorder it'll be incredibly difficult to quit with out positive support around you...i was lucky enough that my mom helped me out...and i never thought she would have...sometimes the people you think who would never help you might surprise you...
good luck sweetie...i hope you quit!
so if it is possible go now and tell one of your parents...you'll be glad you did...

Sounds like it's infected.
Go to the pharmacy or local grocery store and look for a cream for infected cuts. Once the overall swelling goes down and it starts to scab, go out and get some of those fake tatoos (like from gumball machines, y know) I'm talking about the real looking ones (got myself some awesome dragon ones. dragons! Ehehe! ^.^) Cover your wrists and maybe arms with these to remind yourself and prevent yourself from continuing this. I'm currently trying to quit my own self-harm practices. It's not an easy thing, trust me.
Need any other advice, feel free to email me.

it could be infected. what did you cut yourself with. if it was something rusty then you may need medical attention and some antibiotics. you need to tell your parents your problem so that they can help you. you can't do it alone you need all the support that you can get. you need to get some therapy immediatly before the cutting goes to far and you hurt yourself really bad or die. i have to go to therapy for my self abuse and it has been helping me alot. when you are a cutter it is and addiction and like any addiction you need a support system. so tell your parents asap and get that cut looked at by the doctor so you can see if you have a bad infection. good luck and i hope that this helps

It would depend where you were cut, red if it was from a artery it would be red, "blue" if from a vein, as no oxygen would mix with it in space. All blood is red on earth because of the immediate mixing with oxygen, but no such thing would happen in space. Now...if the oxygen was sucked out of the red blood cells after exposure to vacuum, it may turn blue. Or the blood cells might simply burst. Take your pick, any one of the might be true.

First don't do it anymore, it's not going to solve anything. Trust me, i've known lots of cutters and it solved nothing. As far as making it heal there's lots of over the counter products that can help it heal faster such as neosporin, bactine, etc. Wear bracelets and long sleeves to keep it hidden and maybe talk to somebody about your issues.

You shouldn't be hiding it from your parents. Your parents need to know you are hurting yourself so they can get you some help. Use polysporin to disinfect the cut and put a gauze on it. If it is still red in another week, then get medical attention on it before you get a bad infection and it becomes worse.

Show your parents now. Make them take you to the dr. for some antibiotics and maybe stitches. Then tell the dr. you did it yourself and you need help.
NAMI National Alliance for Mental Illness has lots of information about people who cut. They can give you links for more info, or find you a dr. or therapist in your area. They're great people. They can help you. www.nami.org.

You're stupid! Your parent's drama is not your business...As long they are taking care of you and your sis then that's the most important thing...YOU are just giving them more problems to argue about...What are you doing to yourself...?? you really think if they find out they're gonna stop fighting and everything will be ok..NO they will just feel worse that they cause this...
Physical wound can easily be healed but what you're doing to yourself mentally will be there forever if you don't quit now...STOP and think about your goals and if you really have a problem bout your folks fighting then TELL THEM..
I had the same problem when I was younger...My folks constantly fight and sometimes infront of my bf...I was so embarrass and I would cry but I realize that's their own problems and they're the only one who can solve their dramas...
Don't be too hard on yourself and let it go...what they do is not in your control....
