Mexico is very poor, and there are indeed few job opportunities. Their government is stable, for now, but is also over run by corruption. The strong rule, and the people suffer as a result. You can't speak out, legally, against the government, as we can. If you do, it's a good way to land in jail. Mexico is largely Catholic, freed om of religion isn't really a concern. The church has them well under control in that respect.
While the desire for a better life is laudable, illegal entry is not, and that is the issue. Not why, or what they hope to gain, but the how the get here. Granted desperate people do desperate things, but the laws need to be upheld for the best good of everyone. Illegal immigrants should get the cold shoulder treatment, and a fast deportation. As difficult as it may be to do, we do need to make it very clear that being here illegally is going to get you absolutely no where. No job, no government aid, no free schools, or anything else, except a free ride back to Mexico. Second time around, if so identified, you'll never have to worry about your next meal ever again because you won't need one. Things are out of hand, and a strong hand for the problem is needed.

They are looking for a better life for themselves but especially for their children. Speaking personally my parents came to the US (and yes they did it illegally not going to deny that) so that I would have a better education and chance at a better life than they did. And thanks to that (and the amnesty of the 80's ) I now have a college degree and will be able to not only provide myself with a better future but my children as well. And no the government in Mexico is not stable they only seem to care about making the rich richer and the poor poorer. From the time you start preschool all the way through highschool you have to pay for everything and if your parent works as a farmer or minimum wage worker well that's not easy to accomplish. So of course the best option is to go somewhere where you can have a better job and obtaining an education is not that tough.

I think they are coming here because they think they will have a better life here. Countries outside the United States are fed the images that Americans have the house with the picket fence etc. If you grow up seeing that heck yeah you would want to come here. To bad that not the truth many Americans are not well off many Americans live paycheck to paycheck. The one part of the problem the other is that once they are here some Americans will pay them next to nothing to work because they cannot find any Americans to work for far under minimum wage. I feel that they are wrong for doing that they are taking advantage of others for monetary gain.
Now how we solve the problem better border control this country is a melting pot they can come if they want they just have to do it the legal way.

If you were ever close to a mexican immigrant you would know that many of them have very good reasons for immigrating to the US. Although there is a stereotype that Mexican immigrants are here to steal or corrupt or that they're lazy, the truth is many of them come for simply a better life here. I've lived in Mexico myself and if you have ever done research or paid attention to their economy, you would see that Mexico is very poor, there are not a lot of employment opportunities, living conditions are horrible, crime rates are really high, and Mexican immigrants feel that immigrating to the United States would help them live and lead better life's than the ones they had in Mexico. Some of them believe in this idea so much that they are willing to abandon everything they have and start all over again in a new place with nothing and yet eventually succeed in this country. I am an example of this, I immigrated here when I was 7 years old and I am now a 2nd grade teacher and I am proud of it.

Immigrants have a variety of reasons for moving to a new place, of course, but the majority of Mexican immigrants I have known come here in order to provide better opportunities for their children.

Hello! Have you not read anything about the Mexican government! Talk about corruption! Mexicans come here to look for work! Why is that so hard to understand? If they are taking jobs that Americans want then why is it so easy for them to find a job.

Money, that's it. I prefer to live in Mexico, almost everyone I know that goes to the states legally lives here after making enough money. Immigration is not your problem, illegals are, they are the ones who stay there and suck the life out of your benefits.

Who knows? America is a dump. Maybe if we post pictures of America at the borders and move our homeless and mentally retarded to the borders they will turn around and stay away.

Mexican immigrants are looking for better opportunities and a stable future in a country they can be proud to claim as home.
It is those stinking illegals I have a problem with.
