hartz doesn't work. Go to the vet and get a better product. Frotline is good.

Flea collars are absolutely worthless (except to put in your vacuum cleaner bag) and Hartz products are not very safe for your cat.
I hope this hasn't gone on too long. The flea eggs will keep hatching from the carpet or furniture. Get Advantage or Frontline from your vet right away before your whole house is infected.

that stuff you can buy at the supermarket is horrible stuff. Hartz caused hair loss on a stray cat I used it on and I have since read that many more terrible things have happened to other people's animals using those cheap things. Get Advantage or Revolution. It costs more but it works and won't harm your cat.

THe hartz flea collar doesn't work - neither does the liquid. Call your vet and get the Advantage or frontline (you can only get it from the vet).

one of the best products to use for fleas is only 97cents. it is equete (spelling) baby shampoo from wal-mart. the store brand. i'm not sure what it has in it but my vet recommended it and it works. an old LA. wise tale is that it you put a branch of a crate mertle tree in one corner of each room in your home that the fleas will leave your home. Just be sure not to put the branches in front of any doorways. it sounds crazy but it does work.

I recently tried "Diatom dust insect powder" on my Maltese/schnauzer and around my home and it definitely worked! The best thing about it is there are NO POISONS! One drawback is that it is extremely dehydrating so it's best to use it sparingly, but it's CHEAP and Earth friendly! Not to mention you won't be slowly killing your beloved pet or yourself and your family! They sell it online, I bought a five pound bucket for just $20! Another plus is that it also kills ROACHES, ANTS & other creepy crawlys too! Great stuff all around, I highly recommend it! -it's for cats too!

I will tell you the most effective and cheapest way.
Take rubbing alcohol and slowly pour it down the cats back. Rub it into the hair. Use a flea comb (they are cheap at Wal-mart) and comb the fleas out and drop them in a small container of alcohol. The alcohol will kill them before you pick them off most of the time.
If this leaves your cats skin dry, take a bottle and put in two teaspoons of olive oil. Fill the rest with water. Spray the cat to condition the skin. The oil mix won't hurt if he licks it.

try revolution, frontline, or advantage. use it once a month and your pet will be flea free, and so will your home. the over the counter products aren't all that good, and you definetly shouldn't be using them together.
