One of the good things about human beings is our ability and capacity for change.Just think of our history and how we manage to change our bad actions and habits for the better. So yes, even somebody (male or female) who has cheated can change their behavior for the better and become the model partner and/or spouse. However, there are two caveats. The person who cheated must be truly sorry and mean it when they say they will never do it again; it must not be something they say to make the problem go away. The person who was cheated on must also mean it when they say they forgive; they can not use it as a future weapon when ever something goes wrong or as a "get out of jail card" if they decide to cheat out of revenge. If the couple can do both things , not only can the cheater change but the relationship , in some cases, can actually become better and stronger Sometimes it is better to fix something that is broken than to buy a new one.Think about it.

Well I would say once a cheat always a cheat, but maybe you just need to be older and in the right relationship!
So my answer is, I don't know, you have to look at each individual as an individual!

This is really hard to answer Bex as, generally once a cheat always a cheat, yet there are people who can, and do, change. Usually it is after some trauma in their life that makes them rethink and realise what they are doing.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no ..... I have cheated on people in the past but I was unhappy in my relationships and knew eventually my relationship would end because of this.
That doesn't make me a serial cheater I have been in several relationships where I haven't cheated....
Once you start cheating in a relationship though I do believe you will cheat again in that relationship as a boundry has been crossed...

personally i think people can change in that behavior...some really cant...but other's a definite yes...i mean a man who cheats on his girlfriend at 19 is not the same man you see at 32...see what i mean?...and some men at 19 are more faithful/mature than a man that is twice their age!...and not to stereotype men...some women are exactly the same way!...hopefully i answered your question?...just try to see how the person you are pursuing has matured or acts...if things like them flirting with others until it is an uncomfortable feeling for you...than maybe you shouldnt pursue them...and any other weird feelings like that... because then you are probably assuming what is right!

I honesty believe people can change as long as THEY make an honest effort to make that happen. They dont change just because you want them to.
But I guess the saying "once a cheater always a cheater" comes from the fact that people say they are going to change when they really have not intentions to. Therefore they continue to do as they please.

"A leopard never changes his spots"
or
"Once a cheater always a cheater"
Some people cannot understand cheaters. Others do it as easily as putting on their shoes in the morning. Its who you are as a person that makes you cheat. Cheaters are greedy; they want their cake & eat it!
