A stray that we feed and take care to some extent is staying in front of my house since this morning. She used to stay before but it was only for a while. However, today, she keeps sleeping and having rest. Besides her long stay, I find nothing unusual such as groaning. What do you think? Is she sick or just having a rest?

Edit1-> Yes, she eats well. I don't see nothing weird except her sleeping.

A cat usually sleeps about 16 hours every day. It could be that the cat feels safe near you and, as it's spending more time with you, you're just witnessing the sleeping more.

It could simply be that she's sleeping, bu without seeing the cat, it's hard to say.

Does she seem in her normal condition? If you can touch her, does her fur feel the same as usual? Is she alert when awake? Is she drinking well?

Your doing the best thing by keeping an eye on her. My cat has days when she seems not her usual self and just sleeps and sleeps, but she normally springs back the next day. It could be like when we get those 24 hour bugs etc. If she doesn't improve within a few days and you are still concerned then it won't hurt to get her checked by a vet.

It could be that she's beginning to feel comfortable there. If you feed her every day she may be feeling like this is "home" to her. Keep an eye on her. It may have been a warm day and she just felt lazy. Or maybe she was chasing mice in the field all night and was tired. It's nice for you to be concerned.

You gave very little information here. You need to do a little more investigating. If you can get near her, look for injuries or signs of sickness. Will she eat?

Good luck and you are sweet for taking care of her :)

It could be either one. If you're worried about it then quietly walk out there and take the cat then take the cat to the vet. Thats what I would do.

Try to be sure she isn't injured and then if she is not....you may have been 'CHOSEN'. She like you and the grub and you may have a permanent resident. Get her fixed or you will have lots of residents.
