doesn't sound like a record to me, in the winter I'm sure I've beaten that. I can recall doing San Diego to Miami in 4:10.

in response to the above answer.. i fly a convair 580 (turbo prop).. i highly doubt that we could fly that distance in 5 hours.. at 25000 msl, we burn about 1800 pounds i believe and about 280 true airspeed.. we would burn about 15000 pounds of fuel for the trip.. and it would take us roughly 8 hours and 45 minutes without a headwind/tailwind

I'm not sure. But do you favor Pratt and Whitney, or Rolls Royce engines ? And are you a fan of Convairs ?

I fly business jets and we can easily make or beat that time. In fact, I think beat it about 2 weeks ago.
