No, no where in the bible does it say that suicide is a sin.
This started when many christians were commiting suicide so they could get to heaven faster, and in an attempt for the religion not to literally die off they said it was against gods will.

Obviously, we can only answer your question in the light of the bible because the concept of hell is inexistent elsewhere. I am not a believer, but I read on the subject. It is interesting that suicide is not explicitly condemned in the bible. It is indirectly condemned because killing is condemned, but this is stretched a bit. Moreover, when suicides are presented in the bible, they are not presented as examples of bad actions but instead as examples of the result of bad actions. For example, when Juda commits suicide, there is no comment on the action itself, but it is clear that it is a consequence of his previous actions.
Nowadays, we know that it may just be that some chemicals are missing in your brain. It is consistent with the bible. Maybe you didn't eat properly or you exhausted yourself too much and have not the strength to face a challenge. If you feel that way, just go and see a doctor.

If they have been Born-Again, no.
The Unpardonable Sin is Hebrews 6:4,5,6
I wouldn't suggest Suicide AnyWay.
If a Child of GOD wants to go Home to Heaven, you can get Filled with the Spirit, Pray in Tongues for about a Week (praying in Tongues "Edifies" your Spirit, builds it up Spiritually) and Leave your Body on Purpose, without Hurting it in AnyWay.
Suicide is the Intentional "Murder" of your Physical Body so that You have to come out of it For Good (severe the Silver Cord).
You can Leave your Body on Purpose without Committing "Suicide" by Praying in Tongues.
Then, you will not be Sinning.

Well that's a tuff 1 because it stems from depression. As a Christian why not call on God for help , but if not, then there is the call to others . but I think if you read the book of Job you can learn from it ..In the book of Jonah he wanted out , and tried but God wouldn't let Him go till things were taken care of. Samson the strongest man in the Bible committed suicide ..God gives and takes away life so if you die after trying would it not be in Gods hand , then it would also depend on your life prior . So I would say that some do and some don't .

The tragic news of a suicide does not close a chapter in the lives of relatives and friends; it opens one, a chapter of mixed feelings of pity and anger, sorrow and guilt. And it raises the question: May we entertain any hope for our friend who took his or her life?
Although self-inflicted death is never justified, never righteous, the apostle Paul did hold out a beautiful hope for even some unrighteous ones. As he told a Roman court of law: “I have hope toward God, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Acts 24:15.
Many theologians have long dismissed any suggestion that the resurrection of the unrighteous might offer hope for those who commit suicide. Why?
Centuries ago, churchmen introduced a non-Biblical concept: immortal souls that leave the body at death and go straight to heaven, purgatory, Limbo, or hell. That concept clashed with the Bible’s clear teaching of a future resurrection. As Baptist minister Charles Andrews asked: “If the soul is already blissfully in heaven (or is already justifiably roasting in hell), what need is there for anything further?” He added: “This inner contradiction has remained to plague Christians throughout the centuries.”
One result of such errant theology was that “since Augustine’s time [354-430 C.E.], the church has condemned suicide as a sin,” says Arthur Droge in the Bible Review, “a sin beyond redemption, just like apostasy and adultery.”
Only God can fully understand the role of mental sickness, extreme stress, even genetic defects, in a “suicidal crisis,” which, the National Observer noted, “is not a lifetime characteristic [but] often a matter only of minutes or of hours.”
Granted, one who takes his own life deprives himself of the opportunity to repent of his self-murder. But who can say whether one driven to suicide might have had a change of heart had his fatal attempt failed? Some notorious murderers have, in fact, changed and earned God’s forgiveness during their lifetime.
Thus, Jehovah, having paid “a ransom in exchange for many,” His Son, is within his right to extend mercy, even to some self-murderers, by resurrecting them and giving them the precious opportunity to “repent and turn to God by doing works that befit repentance.”
The Scriptures encourage us to see ourselves, not as immortal souls, but as valuable creations of the God who loves us, who treasures our being alive, and who looks forward with joy to the time of the resurrection.
4000 years had passed from Adam & Eve, Jesus said to a Religious Leader that no one had gone to Heaven, and millions of people had passed away in death. This is a quote from the King James Bible:
John 3:13 " And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven,"
it seems to me, this would eliminate the "immortal soul" belief, not only that, if you go to Heaven or Hell when you die, you completely do away with the resurrection that the Bible speaks about, because the resurrection is suppose to take place after Jesus comes the second time, and that has not happened.

*I recently answered another question about suicide, so I'll give you the same answer I gave them:
I think suicide is equivolent to murder - you're KILLING someone, and the someone is you. God created each one of us for a purpose, and He wants us to live our lives in joy, serving and loving Him! Suicide is unbelief in God, because it's basically saying "God can't fix my problem - only death can!", and it's prideful, saying "I have the power to take my life into my own hands." Christians especially should know how bad suicide is; we've given our lives to Christ, and if we decide to take matters into our own hands like that, it's pretty much shunning Jesus' sacrifice and saying it doesn't matter because life's just not worth the hassel.
Now, I'm not an expert, but I don't think you would go to hell if you committed suicide; true that it would be an unconfessed sin, but you don't have to confess EVERY SINGLE SIN to get to heaven. Yes, God wants us to confess our sins, because it keeps the enemy from having a way to get hold of us, and because sin keeps us distant from God, but if you forget to confess a sin, you're not condemned for it. Romans 25:20b says, "Where sin abounds, grace abounds even further." (Hallelujah!!!) That's something you should talk to a good, Christian pastor about if you want to know more.
God bless you!

I don't think so because what about the people who attempt suicide but failed? I mean it doesn't make sense that God would send a Christian to hell only because they committed suicide but got it right.

As it would imply, the person taking their own Life must be experiencing Hell already,so when the body has dropped, they are still in the same mental condition.

You cannot earn your way into heaven based on works, so in turn, i believe, that you cannot fall from heaven based on your own works. if you have accepted Jesus Christ into your life, then you WILL enter heaven upon death or Rapture. but if you have truely accepted Christ, that means you have surrendered you life to Him. And He will not let you fall. If the Lord really is in control of your life He will not lead you suicide.
