You know the old saying, "You can pick you friends, but you can't pick you family", well enough said. If we didn't love them so much or feel some special bond, they wouldn't be able to P--- us off, so bad.

There are defintely differences in out family, but there are also bonds. I choose to associate more with the family members that I have a bond with, so that I have someone to lean on for support when I need it.

Yes. I just 'divorced' them, unlisted tel. # and will return all mail, etc. Sticking with it this time, after 50 years of abuse and being blamed for their problems. A mountain range between me and my family is a good thing. About time I grew up and took responsibility for my life. Does this work for you?

Family members can be nerve rattling. They can assault your ego, make you question your sanity, and insult your intelligence. Why do we put up with them, because we love them, despite their faults. And they love us, despite ours. Find a common ground. Stand yours, and hold on, cause life with relatives is always a bumpy ride! Good luck.
