Life is a learning experience . That is why people live on earth. Suicide is a cop-out of not wanting to learn about lessons in life.

Everyone should have the right to dispose of their own life. There is nothing unethical or immoral about putting an end to unbearable suffering that can't be relieved.

Addition: To those who say it's a sin or cowardly thing to do; Have you ever had the experience of watching a friend or loved one suffering in agonizing pain, both physical and psychological, and knowing that they had but a few days at most left to live? I hope you never do, but if you are ever faced with this most horrifying scenario, I think, and would like to hope that you realize just how irrational and cruel this actually is.

Neither. Suicide is considered a sin in many religions, because it is murder, killing a human being. Killing is a sin, even when the death is self inflicted. Does everyone have the right to commit suicide? Well, technically, it doesn't matter, the suicide isn't asking for public opinion, because if someone wants to die, there is very little one could do to stop it, so whether they have the right or not is moot point. Rules or laws or rights are not a mental burden for them, life itself is, hence the reason for wanting to exit the mortal coil.

Suicide, first of all, is a VERY selfish act. No one who kills themselves are thinking of others, just their own problems. Suicide is wrong, and a sin. It's a choice, just like lying or stealing is a choice. People were given free will, and act upon that accordingly. Choices we make reflect on ourselves and usually others around us. If someone is having difficulty dealing with their problems, they should talk to a psychiatrist. Taking your own life is foolish, selfish, and wrong.

To clarify: sinning will not damn you. The refusal to accept the sacrifice that God made will. Hell is eternity without God, and refusing to believe that Jesus died so that you can have eternal life, free from sin (Jesus' blood and death cleanses from all sin, past, present, and future) will eternally separate you from God.

Sin would support the concept of the Bible, there is no such thing as sin as far as I'm concerned. there is an arguement on both sides ofthis issue. I tend to agre people like Dr. Death serve a valid purpose.

I think suicide is equivolent to murder - you're KILLING someone, and the someone is you. God created each one of us for a purpose, and He wants us to live our lives in joy, serving and loving Him! Suicide is unbelief in God, because it's basically saying "God can't fix my problem - only death can!", and it's prideful, saying "I have the power to take my life into my own hands." Christians especially should know how bad suicide is; we've given our lives to Christ, and if we decide to take matters into our own hands like that, it's pretty much shunning Jesus' sacrifice and saying it doesn't matter because life's just not worth the hassel.
Now, I'm not an expert, but I don't think you would go to hell if you committed suicide; true that it would be an unconfessed sin, but you don't have to confess EVERY SINGLE SIN to get to heaven. Yes, God wants us to confess our sins, because it keeps the enemy from having a way to get hold of us, and because sin keeps us distant from God, but if you forget to confess a sin, you're not condemned for it. Romans 25:20b says, "Where sin abounds, grace abounds even further." (Hallelujah!!!)
God bless you!

i tend to think its taking the easy way out and is usually a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

however, if i was 90 and found out i had cancer, couldnt walk, couldnt take care of myself, was a drain on my family's finances and wasnt ever going to get better, i can picture myself not wanting to be around any more. i dont know that i'd actually kill myself though, thats a bit extreme.

Suicide is indeed a sin..."thou shalt not kill" including oneself. For God has a time and place for you to die but not at the hands of your own self.

Do you see suicide as taking your own Life, or giving up your Life?

I think taking a Life is wrong, but giving up your own Life should be your choice.
