sounds like a ultimatum to me

For what it's worth, your argument does make sense. To relate as a Christian, all I have to do is imagine similar, such as accepting another religion, whose tenets I vehemently disagree with, all on the claims "i'ts been around for a long time, and those who reject it will fare poorly in the hereafter. the 'choice' is mine, therefore my fault if I suffer for not having 'chosen'". I think from now on I'll be giving a standard reply, that ignorance is a valid defense come final judgment (ignorance as in - not knowing which "truth" to choose, or even beholding one for that matter). My childhood friend who's an atheist, had a friend who suffered a nervous breakdown upon being unable to reconcile these issues of eternal torture for inability to know/discern what is which anymore (and yet desiring to be a good person in either event). Sometimes just leading a quiet non-confrontational life is the best decision a person CAN actually make, rather than keep obsessing and spiraling ever deeper upon having their "buttons" pushed with claims that drive them crazy. Take it easy, be of good cheer, that's my advice for your current stage in life :) Regards, Pat

If people realy do NOT believe in God, heaven or hell... then why the worry or questions about it all ???People who do not believe, do NOT know the truth behind those words *free will* when it comes to God and choosing..... and to even try to explain would farther distance the gap....... I choose *freely*, I was over 30 when I made that choice...... Yes there was a definning moment...... and NO , there was no other human envolved....... Grace is a *free* gift..... We, meaning the whole human race do have to make the choice..... You choose freely your path and I choose mine...... I had heard of hell before becoming Christian, I had no fear then, I have NO fear now, but for different reasons......... go in peace...... God bless

No that is not what it means.

27 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;
28 For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward.

Thats right. If you don't believe it you are free to burn in hell for ever!!!
A sales pitch like that in any other arena of modern life would cause you to loose your business license and probably go to jail....or a psychiatric hospital.

I don't believe in heaven or hell. You make your own heaven/hell while you're alive. The question is N/A too me.
IF I happen to be wrong, I'll choose hell, all my friends and family would be there,LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Fore those of you who choose not to believe, your free will that GOD gave you will cost you dearly, so enjoy while your little dot of life fly's by. I pray that some day before its to late your eyes will be opened to see and take the gift offered to you.

I don't believe that that is it. Of course, I also don't believe that not believing in Jesus and/or God is an automatic ticket to hell, either.

Yeah, its kind of like freely choosing to give the mugger your wallet so he doesn't shoot you in the head, isn't it?

Just like a hostage has the choice to do as he is told or be shot in the head. Free will.

That's basically it. However I feel believe or hell is not a choice but an ultimatum. As such, I run in the opposite direction.
