I was born into the catholic church and I questioned from a very early age. One thing we should do is not judge or criticise any religion. I myself, choose not to belong to any religion (after years of investigating and joining many). I do believe that Jesus was one of many great teachers, like Budha and that they were trying to tell us that if we lived and thought properly we could do the things they did. Start reading different books by different authors. Start with an interpretation of Jesus' teaching, and then you will understand that you are correct, we can pray anywhere because God is everywhere. Don't judge, seek and the answer will come to you. Every in every religion feels they are the only right one, unfortunately this is the opposite to love
and not what the great teachers taught. When you feel good inside by helping others and not judging anybody that is when you are closest to God, Universe or whatever you may want to name a diety.

Try reading Wayne Dwyer, Deepak Chopra after you have found out what Jesus was really saying, not what any Church has interpreted in their own way, for their own reasons, which is usually power over the people.

I wish you an interesting search on your path.

I don't as a WHOLE - but on individual principles everything by humans is suspect. Protecting criminal activity was/is wrong - big mistake there. So knowing that power corrupts and money and power are present in the bureaucratic-ness of paperwork and buying land, raising crops, feeding people - the Church is batting 80% maybe better.
But one bad headline anywhere on the planet and the church takes it hard. People are very quick to pounce on all these good people - for the crime of a few.
In the spirit of following Jesus Christ I think the humans have done as good as humans can do. There are checks and balances for religious activities, (verifying miracles, etc.) Teaching and being compassionate - hospitals, schools, missions. Respect to other faiths, is taught also.
The balance of wanting to do something against the means to pay for it - make the church bureaucratic system necessary. You can’t buy fuel for trucks and boats to move food without money. This is a source of power in this world. Finding humans that can fight the base temptations of being human is difficult, and the numbers prove the Church has a system to find these women and men to do the hard work.
I believe the Catholic Church is doing right for humanity.

Yes. I'm a convert to the Catholic Church. Best decision of my life.

You can pray anywhere at anytime; there is no restriction on prayer. Jesus did perform miracles; still does.

Yes.

I believe in the one, holy, apostolic, catholic church.

The mission of the Church is to proclaim and establish the Kingdom of God begun by Jesus Christ among all peoples.

The Church constitutes on earth the seed and beginning of this saving Kingdom.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 767-769: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9.htm#767

With love in Christ.

Sure I do; there's plenty of evidence that it exists. Is it perfect? Not by a long shot, and this is coming from a Catholic theologian. But for many, it is their chosen way of expressing their faith.

Do I believe in every single word that the RCC teaches and professes to be true? No, but I share the core beliefs and find that as a religion, it clicks for me and fulfills my needs. As for the corruption and other badness, I do what I can to make change in my own community.

(and btw, we do believe you can - and should - pray anywhere)

I say this With Love. Your reasoning is the reason for so many offshoots.

The Catholic church Tends to the Holy sacraments established by Christ. And keeps the church from getting corrupted. The Human Flaw is what makes her (the church) imperfect.

Absolutely.

But it sounds like you only believe in yourself.

To those who believe, no explanation is necessary. To those who refuse to believe, no explanation will suffice.
