my daughter is 25 months, knows 10 shapes, knows all her colours, can count to 10 and recognise each number, also recognises the names of each family member and reads a few words confidently.
but she keeps peeing on the floor!!! i have tried pull ups, pants, bribes, star charts. none of the others were like this. but i am feeling that because she is so ahead for her age, being potty trained is expected of her. my 2 boys were almost 3 before they were 'DRY' and my elder daughtewr was 30 months when she was dry so although i have experience i am completely baffled with her!!!!
any ideas???

Yep she is still to young to now how to control her body functions. Don't push her in about 5 or 6 more months she will start to recognize when she needs to use the potty/ Being the very smart girl she will more than likely bring you her potty and say "Look Mommy, I went potty" Both of you will be very proud. Pretty soon get her some pull ups that helps reinforce her potty training.

She might not be ready yet. When my wife and I trained my daughter she was about two and a half. She was talking in full sentences and very advanced. Sometimes you just have to wait until they can tell you they are ready. She took just a few days to train after she let us know she wanted to use the potty. Keep showing her the potty and hope she'll use it. Good luck.

Maybe you are spending so much time on the technical stuff that she is not able to retain the simple stuff. She sounds incredibly smart and talented, but let her be a baby.If your first ..which in general are the ones parents rush , took 30 months I would at least give her that amount of time.
Something to try if you are so set to potty train is to allow her to follow you to the bathroom as well siblings while expalining what it is your are doing. Also allow her to go naked- it is messy, but lets her recognize when she is wet- eventaully she will put the feeling she has prior (urge to go) with the wetness that proceeds afterwards. Try this like when swimming, will give for easier clean-up.

Do not switch back to the diapers/pullups you are doing the right thing by letting her wear underpants. You have to leave her wet for a little while when she has in accident. Because she needs to know that she had an accident and doesn't like the feeling. but also try to put her on a schedule take her to the bathroom like every 15-30 minutes until she starts staying dry longer and longer. Only put her in a diaper for bedtime, naptime, and long trips in the car until she gets used to going to the potty. Also cut down on how much you give her to drink.

Simple. She's not ready yet. Try her again in a few months. I worked for years at a nursery and I've seen so many children regress back to nappies AFTER they've been potty trained because they weren't ready the first time round. You'll find that once she's ready, she might even go dry at nights straight away.

It sounds like she is not ready yet. Just except that and wait a few more months.
Just because she has is ahead in other ways doesn't mean she will be potty trained early too.
Relax and wait, it will happen when she is ready.

My son is very advanced when concerning academics, but he took a while to potty train. I was so stressed all the time until I quit pushing. I let it go and then voila he learned to use the potty at his speed, when HE was ready. I used pullups on him til he learned. How does she pee on the floor when wearing pullups? Does she take them off? I'm kind of confused to that aspect of your question. If she is deliberately going on the floor than she knows what she is doing and probably likes getting your attention when she does it, even if it is negative attention.

Relax, Mama! Put the potty chair out and let her take the initiative. I have one just like yours. She'll get the idea into her head when she is ready. Thank God for wood/tile floors! Invest in some Petzyme from the Pet store. You'll save yourself a lot of stress!
