The best way is to talk with your family doctor. He/she has perhaps had other patients with your condition that have een referred to different surgeons and can tell you who their other patients have been happy with.

And...knowing you and the personalities of the available surgeons, they can hopefully refer you to not only the best surgeon for what you need, but also to a surgeon with a pratice style you'll be confortable with.
