Look at some of the answers to the linked question, and please tell me what you think about the non-catholic Christians who basically tell the asker to 'suck it up'.

Aren't these the same people who whine incessantly about atheists 'persecuting' them on this forum??
(For the record, I have far more respect for Catholics, in general, than I do for fundamentalists and Evengelicals. In fact, I have absolutely no respect for the latter two.)

Oh, no! EyeLovesJesus, I made a too-broad statement in anger :(
If most Fundamentalists and Evangelicals were like you, I'd have absolutely no problem with them. You are a wonderful lady, and one of the very best and loving persons here. I am truly so very sorry. Please forgive me?

Thank you, Zilla.
And for the record, "persecution" is an overused word by some. What they're referring to is, at the most, prejudice (if they live in the democratic West, that is). True persecution is something none of us want to experience -- and I daresay no present-day Christian in a free country ever has.

Of late this forum is making me very disillusioned, both with a lot of the people on here, and in the real world.
It's getting pathetic and I've seen school yards that were less childish. There are a couple of users in particular that........well I can't write it.
If it weren't for people like you Hypnozilla and the other decent ones, I'd give up on R&S in disgust.

I am with you. It drives me nuts. I am a former catholic who the catholic church's scholarship and the work they do. I have no use for lies of any kind, even those against a church I do not belong to. It seems that the only religion that most of these knuckleheads want protected is fundamentalist christianity of their brand.

i went and answered his question... some people amaze me. no one has the right to tell someone else what they believe is wrong. that's all it is...beliefs.
you will find these types of people everywhere. the ones who are more righteous, more long suffering, more pious.
this is one of the reasons i stopped being a christian. too many people wanting to throw stones instead of helping each other.
before this turns into a rant (and it was close) i will just say...
bright blessings to all.

Hi Hypnozilla. I am a Catholic (as you know) and these peopholes drive me crazy (as you also know) they constantly say it is the Faith alone that makes for salvation but, other people who have that Faith (and then some) are totally ridiculed.---Oh Yeah, us Catholics are such sinners---I am soooo glad Jesus came for people like us and not those perfect ones like them. I LOVE FALL!!!

Oh I do, I do, I wanna play.
I can't tell you how many times I have tried to clear up the anti-Catholic propaganda that certain Christians have been brainwashed with in church. It seems like every Protestant I have ever met spouts off the same misconceptions about Catholicism. Is this all they learn in church nowadays?
As for CJ (who thinks Mother Theresa is burning in Hell), he is no longer worth my time. When I see his name, I merely move to the next response.

I love it, I agree with you, the non-catholic Christians have a lot to learn. Unfortunately, it is generally agreed that they are unteachable.

Hello sweet (((((((HYPNOZILLA)))))))
A Christian is to walk, talk and act as Jesus..in meekness and lowliness of heart..
Jesus taught us to Love our neighbors as ourself..we are not to belittle another person.. :(
Dear Brothers and Sisters..let us not forget the Sermon on the Mount:
Matthew 5
¶ Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
¶ Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
¶ Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
¶ Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
¶ Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
¶ Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
¶ Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
===============================================
When one says evil against another, "they are not being a peacemaker".. :(
I am an Evangelical and a Fundamentalist Christian.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With ~Love~ your "Friend" In Christ.. :)

I conclude that your observation is a rather astute one. It's amazing how the supposed 'persecuted ones' become like rabid dogs when the opportunity presents itself.

what is really sad, is that so much of what protestants think that they know about the Catholic Church is totally wrong! yet, i guess it would take too much effort to really look into what the Church actually teaches.
