I think its beautiful, if you can pull it off. There are many beautiful women with very beautiful tattoos. Everyone has a different opinion though. If a guy rejects you because you have tats than he is not worth your time. Tattoos are for you, whether they have a deep meaning to them or its for the art form, they are not for anyone else. It's kind of funny just the other day I was in my uniform at the shoppette (like a C-Store) looking at the magazine section and a SGT was looking at a tattoo magazine, he made a statement to me saying "I wish women would not do that to their body, how do they think that will look when their a hundred". He was telling me this not knowing I'm completely inked up (Sleeves, Full back, chest, legs, etc) because I had my uniform on, but that was his opinion. I just don't get anyone's logic when they think tattoos are going to make you look any less beauful when your that old. I don't think anyone is going to be checking you out when your a hundred, sorry hun lol :( This is a personal choice, one that you are going to have to make. Just know everyone's going to have their own opinion, and now you know mine.

I think it all depends on the person. If the tattoo seems to fit the personality, then it's attractive. Otherwise, the tattoo is just there, nothing but a fact of life. I don't think tattoos in and of themselves are feminine or masculine - it all depends on the person who's got them. What matters most is whether or not *you* think your tattoo is attractive and feminine - anyone around you will pick up on that vibe and find it attractive and feminine too.

As a guy with tats I have no problem with girls having them but I understand how you feel
Go to a good artist and they will help with the design then if you are lucky and ask they will draw the design on your arm freehand and you can see how it looks before getting it permanant
I have a "starlight fairy" on my arm sitting on a swing and this looks great
I also have a cluster of roses on my upper arm with my wifes name and my artist is going to change this to a half sleeve. Now I am a guy with no problems regards tattoos but there is still many different issues from many different people and there really shouldn't be but that is the nature of tattoos.
If you like it and are totally happy then go for it if not "totally" satisfied with the design then wait til you are. It is permanant and mistakes can't be rectified too easily
Be at ease with you studio and your artist, get your design RIGHT and see it before the work begins. Your description does sound good. Check out Amy Brown you will find her on the web. She has some fantastic fairy work.
Check out this studio. Both Jim and Liz have done work for me and I like Lizi's style and Jim is just great at portrait work.

Dave also does fantastic exact copy work so worth a look
Not sure where you are but hey you are only looking at the moment
Good luck with your tattoo

i think sleeves can be really nice on a girl, all depends on the style of tattoo you go for, the fairy sitting in the garden with moon and stars sounds really nice, id love to have something like that but just abit scared. i say go for it, and if you meet a lad who doesnt like it then he's not the one for you :)

i am not a guy but..... you must think real hard before going for a half sleeve. if you want to look pretty in a nice dress the tattoo can spoil the look. have a temporary one done first to see if you can live with it. i dont think its masculine but it wont look girlie either. but good luck. my son has a half sleeve abd it can look great or odd, depending on what he wears. he is now having a total back tat done. so be careful its addictive.

Sleeves are great :) And don't be too worried about looking masculine. I hate to reference Miami Ink...but look at Kat Von D, most guys think she's incredibly hot. It's all about what you get and how you carry it. Go for it and don't be afraid to show it off!
