I thought I was a Christian, who has accepted Christ as my saviour. Apparently, I am wrong.

I KNOW!! It's so frustrating!! I don't know how many times a day someone asks if Catholics are going to Hell. And CJ keeps repeating it.
edit: well he does. And people do ask that so many times a day. And what makes it worse is that when we do spend our time answering these questions some person who says I agree with you gets the best answer. It's sickening.
Here's a story I heard from someone at Church. She was talking to her friends and the discussion went to which church she went to and she said, "Well I'm Catholic so..." (Her friends gave her the omg you're Catholic look) She like most people said, "What's wrong with being Catholic?" and one of the other girls was like "Well I just don't agree with how you guys worship a sun god."
Thank you guys. Bless you too.

It has been thus so since the time of Henry VIII. People have forgotten that Catholicism was outlawed in Britain until right up until the late 19th century. Catholics were discriminated against, killed and tortured by the protestant establishment. Priests had to hide in 'priest holes', monasteries were demolished, Catholic land and property was stolen, magnificent architecture and priceless art was deliberately destroyed etc. etc. Protestant thugs from Oliver Cromwell onwards went on the violent rampage in Ireland, killing and looting etc. (no wonder there has been unrest in that country ever since). The bigotry and discrimnation still exists in Britain's laws which continue to ban the Monarch from ever becoming or even marrying a Catholic. And would you credit that the people that committed these crimes against humanity claimed to be Bible believing, God fearing Christians? Just as their successors, the present day bigots claim.

Brother, I've come to one conclusion about CJ and the handful of others who can be counted on to spout hatred toward Catholicism and Catholics themselves: We probably shouldn't feed them by posting Qs we know they'll be quick to answer. I think they take perverse pleasure in racking up "thumbs-downs" way into double digits, like it proves something ... well, it does, but probably not what they imagine.
Best to just do two things: Continue to counter their rhetoric with the truth as they seek out questions with the word "Catholic" in them on this odd "mission" to post the same thing over and over. And second, keep them in prayer.
To the latter you can expect an indignant response that only the prayers of "saved Christians" are "accepted"; fortunately, we are free in Christ to pray however and for whomever we wish and do not require permission.
No -- you are not the only one. The peace of Christ be with you.

I am also Catholic and I see it pretty much non stop. I dont bash any other Christian sects or Muslims or Jews, but people are bash Catholics non stop.
I am also tired of hearing that its because of all the "bad things" Catholics have done. If you would like me to make a list of bad things done in the name of every world religion I will gladly. It will be a long and complete list.

I can't believe the amount of hate there is on the R&S forum towards anyone. I don't get why Catholicism is bashed a lot though seeing as it and Eastern Orthodox were really the first to come from Christianity.

If you knew ...
That Jesus Christ founded only ONE Church ...
and that He said He intended it to remain ONE ...
and that your own tradition resulted from a rebellion against His ONE Church ...
and that your tradition has produced thousands of conflicting, unauthorized manmade denominations, in direct violation of His stated will ...
and that truth cannot conflict with truth, so that your manmade tradition is obviously filled with untruth ...
then you would be hard pressed to demonstrate that what your founders rebelled against was really, really BAD ...
because if the Catholic Church is all that it claims to be ...
and all that history plainly reveals it to be ...
than your rebellion itself must have been really, really BAD ...
and the existence of your tradition could not be within the will of God.
Therefore, many Protestants are desperate to find something, anything, that just might appear to validate the rebellion that brought their tradition into existence. And therefore they will accept as truth, without hesitation and without checking their sources, any story they hear, any misinterpretation of Catholic teaching, any fanciful pseudohistorical myth they hear, no matter how silly or bizarre, that appears from their limited perspective to place the Catholic Church in a negative light. It's sad really.
But, if they sought the genuine truth with an open heart and mind, they would end up with only one possible honest response. And that is what they fear most ... that discovering the truth would place them in the position of having to join the Catholic Church, or living a lifetime knowing they are resisting the holy Spirit. It's safer to just avoid the truth.

Well it is really not just anti-Catholic Rhetoric that you will find on here, it is anti every religion especially Christian religions. Join the club- I am LDS everyone loves to bash us, but it has always been that way for us.
It is very irritating for me though when ever people ask questions simply to bash any religion. When they are truly asking questions out of curiosity and to learn more about a faith- that does not bother me at all. When the questions are intended to find fault, then I have problems with that- I don't care what religion it is.

Listen all who can read, Believe in ONE God, the "other life" and do as much good as you can ....... and don't believe in the fools that think they know what they are talking about, which includes the leaders of Islam, Christianity and Judaism today. Soon will the Messiah return to tell us all how far off we really are.
I will be one of the witnesses who will be brought forward to testify against them if GOD Wishes.
