I see you basically answered it and you are right... amen
We cannot ever trust our feelings and our emotions, because sometimes they are wrong. The only one we trust is God, and we check out everything according to HIs HOly Word.
I heard a man say once, IT WAS OK THAT I CHEATED ON MY WIFE AND I DONT THINK SHE WAS ROMANTIC ENOUGH. WEll I knew the situation, and the reason she wasnt romantic is due to severe abuse. Hard to be romantic if a man is beating on you all the time.
When I heard it, it was just what I needed to hear for me to see this picture very very clear, of how deceiving we can be enen to ourselves, as the devil deceives us. WE can never trust our feelings and emotions. Our only trust is in God and His Holy Word, in the HOly Spirit to guide us, and in the hope of Jesus soon return.
Only a few will admit they must obey God. But how can they obey if they dont know God or HIs word WE must study Gods word to know what He is saying, we must obey it, and we can do so by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And, as we prayer, God will bring more deepness into these things and we will understand what we are reading, without a doubt.
Gods word is our shield. and Jesus is our only Hope.
Obedience leads to blessing and disobedience leads to curse. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY>
Great question... God will bless you.

I have head of people who really do not know God'd perfect will for their lives, much less His will regarding any situation. What they sometimes feel - if is is not an unction from the Holy Spirit - is human intuition which is flawed. At other times, it is an emotional feeling based on wishful thinking. Again, any hunch that does not come from the Spirit of God could be demonic. The Bible warns us to test the spirits (1John 4:1)and 1 Thessalonians 5:21 advises us to "prove all things; hold fast (to) that which is good."
Praise the Lord!

You're right! Our heart is deceitful because of sin. The Bible clearly states that man's heart is deceitful and desperately wicked and that "there is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10). Man's natural tendency is to go after that which is bad rather than that which is good. Only God’s Word can give us completely dependable counsel.

The Bible is not to be base on feelings. That is the biggest problem we as a human race have when dealing with the Bible. Once we are willing to realizes as individuals that God didn't ask us how we "feel" about doing what he commanded us to do and realize "we" are wrong and "He" is right, then and only then we will see things as God does through His Word.
Otherwise, please show from the Bible were it reads it's ok to base God's Word on "I think," "I feel," "that's good enough" and "that's not fair"?

You asked a great question then gave it an even better answer.. I live around Mormons who base their whole religion on feelings. I reject trusting them. I look to the Bible as a lamp to guide my steps and light my path... IHS Jim

We have a conscience and because of that we know when we are doing something wrong. Read the following definition of Conscience, 1. the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one's conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action: to follow the dictates of conscience.
2. the complex of ethical and moral principles that controls or inhibits the actions or thoughts of an individual.

The problem with all you hardcore fanatics is that you trust blindly. If your God is so loving and perfect why would he give you a deceitful heart? And I dont know about any of you but I've never seen god pick up a pen and write a book so that means a human, you know, one of those people with a "deceitful" heart wrote your precious bible. If your going to try to bad mouth people think about the topic from all views not just the one sided view of a fanatic.
