We were going to do Friday night babysitting advertising at local churches. Any other suggestions for fundraising?

I suggest you don't 'charge a 'fee' but have a 'suggested donation amount' for the service.

Other ideas could be car washes, cake/cookie/candy sales, garage/attic cleaning, a raffle (but you need a good prize donated first) charity lunch/supper ...

good luck!

Are you advertising to the churches for yourself? Or for the church (you attend) to other churches? Either way, I don't think there's any legal ramifications. That's a good idea. Sometimes, I don't like dragging my kids to a night service or I just need a little break.
Like the other answerers said, you could do bake sales, car washes, bbq. Or you could just ask people for donations for a certain cause (youth field trip, etc.)

Don't worry about it, this is fundraising and no one is going to come after you for it.

Personally, the most effective way to fundraise is to explain your cause to people and ask them to donate. It feels scary, but it really works.
