When I was at camp, I cried ALOT! I felt like nobody liked me and that they hated me. I felt depressed and really sad. Why is that is what I wonder.

One reason might have been that you felt homesick. Homesickness can show itself in a number of ways, one is depression. If you're away from home, you really more heavily on the people around you, and if there is no one to support you, and mke you feel part of something, you start to feel out of place, and depressed, this is what makes homesickness

Mine first surfaced (to the severity where I knew something was wrong) when I was 18 and went away to college for the first time. I think it has quite a bit to do with the change of environment you are in where you are leaving the security of your parent's home and living in an unfamiliar place (even if is only for a short time such as at a camp or for a semester of college or whatever).
If you have friends at home, it is often very difficult to be in a new environment where they are not around or perhaps, if you don't have too many friends you may be looking for approval in a new setting and if it doesn't meet your standards, it is very easy to put yourself down.
Best advice I could give is to go talk to someone who may be able to help. Good luck

you just felt insecure in your new environment -- without the safety and warmth offered by family and friends back home.

i guess you need to attend camp more often to build not only your confidence but also you social skills.

Well, what happend there to make you think those things? As I wrote somewhere else, what you feel is not always what is true.
