I'm sure it will be fine or try some Vaseline if you have any. It will go, don't worry.

Our wire-haired jack has this same problem. I have to keep the hair trimmed in that area and had to buy really expensive soft elk hide leather collar. Its the first collar that hasn't caused him any problems..it cost me £36. It was worth it so he didn't get a sore neck anymore.
Try and leave the collar off for a while..or get a wide one that is soft and the thin ones tend to rub more. the best thing is to make sure the dog doesn't have a collar on during the day except while out for walks until the rash has cleared up.

hope it gets better soon

Hiya, if he doesnt seem bothered with it, I would leave alone, sometimes puting cream (like savlon which is for humans) can do more damage.
If its bothering him, maybe just a little vasaline as this is quite pure.
There is also a cream available with Tea Tree, for rashes and broken skin on dogs, You should be able to get it at the pet shop, if in doubt though, speak to the vet x

Take the collar off, throw it away and buy a harness. Even the largest dogs should be walked with a harness instead of a collar. Try putting Neosporin Plus on the affected area just be sure he is not able to lick the area that is medicated.

Don't leave the collar on 24/7, we took the collar off our dog due to her looking red under the chin/chest its a lot better.

Also a harness is better to walk your dog but you can not put any ID on a harness like a collar.

If you can, leave the collar off for as long as possible. - I would maybe give your vet a ring just to see if savlon is okay!

My Beagle had the same problem. He had a raw spot on the under side if his neck. I just loosened the collar one notch, it was a little too tight. He is fine now.

Yeah, that should be fine. Leave his collar off while he's in the house or garden, give the area time to recover.
