wedding reception ideas...?

Question

my sister is getting married next weekend. me & my other sis ((the maid of honor)) wanted to pull a prank or 2 during the reception. nothing inapropriate though.
something fun and creative that everyone will laugh at.
our family is very sarcastic and we joke around so she knows somethings coming. the groom wont mind either.
we don't want to do anything mean or damaging to her or her dress

what are some good ideas that aren't inapropriate or mean?

It's great that your family has a sense of humor but your sister's wedding would not be the appropriate occasion to pull a prank. She's spent all this time planning it and making sure things are perfect -- trying to be funny about all of this will only be frustrating and disrespectful to her (even though that's not your intent). Enjoy the day and be supportive of your sister. If anything, God forbid, goes wrong -- then help her to have a sense of humor about it. Other than that...it'd be best to leave this one alone!

Some people would say that since you have ruled out mean or inappropriate you have taken all the fun out of it but that's not true. If there is to be live music you could have the band play a portion of the first song off-key and then reveal the joke or if there is a DJ play a song that the bride hates and confess why he did it.

Stuff the car that the couple is going to get away with so full of balloons that they can't get in.

I'm not sure what you consider inappropriate or mean, but the other day I was searching on here and I saw someone say how they were at a wedding. When they didnt the garter toss, they blindfolded the groom and spun him around, and then the bride got up (she was sitting in a chair in front of him when they blindfolded him) and replaced her with the best man. So the groom was feeling up his leg for the garter. They put some heels on him and panty hose. lol I thought that was really funny, but you may think it's inappropriate.

I saw a video on like americas funniest home video and the best man or in your case maid of honor can stand up and say since he's married now we'd like all the women with keys to his place to please bring them up. Then they have like 10-15 girls bring them slowly at first then more come up. It was sooo funny when a 75yearold lady came up. If you did this though it would be more on the groom than the bride. Good luck, my family's the same way :)

If she's expecting a prank, the best way to 'get' her is to do nothing at all...she will be looking out for it and waiting for something that never happens........

Then before they get back from the honey moon, get in a mess with their house! hang condoms from the door knobs, fix the faucets to spray them when the turn it on, put rice in their bed ( don't forget to make it up very neatly so they won't notice til they go to bed)

If you must do something at the wedding, put sardines under the hood of the car so the smell will flood the car after they've driven it a few minutes.
Or get naked baby pictures of each of them and make giant blow-ups at Walgreens and hang it behind the brides table.

Good luck with that one, my family is very sarcastic and funny as well but I would be horrified if my sisters played jokes at my wedding. Maybe rethink this one and give the hardy har a rest and let the day be all about her happy moment. When people remember the wedding and reception I would hate that they thought about your jokes not your sisters special day.

so we went to this wedding and the best man pranked the bride. it ws all in good fun and everyone loved it.
he went out and found a dozen old housekeys. he gave one to a dozen different male guests of various ages. one was 17 and the eldest was in his 80's. told them all how it was going to work so they were ready for it.
so when the best man stood up and made his speech he worked his way around so he stood just behind the bride and groom but in the middle of them. he said his little speech and then leaned over as though the bride was saying something to him.
he then stood up and said
"sue asked me to, gosh this is kinda silly, but sue said she had given a couple of friends keys to her apt and now she wants them back - so - if y'all are here, could you give her the keys please."
well, one by one the men with the keys came up to the table and handed them over to sue. they all acted a little shy about it and scuffed their feet or hung their heads as they did it. the youngest one blushed as he was the centre of attention for that brief moment. it was perfect. so 11 men brought up keys and then no one moved, so the best man leaned over once again as if the bride were saying something and he stood up and said
"c'mon guys, there is one more key out there!" thats when the 80 year old fella got up and shuffled his feet, and acted all silly and shy and brought the key up!
the bride thought it was really funny and well done, the groom thought it was hysterical and everyone cracked up and thought it was hilarious!

After you play your pranks, be sure to send a nice bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to their room on their honeymoon thanking them for taking it all in good fun!

if you have some one who is a macanic you can have him rig the brakes to the get away car to where every time they hit the brakes the horn go's off it will be hillarious !!! Hope this helps ! God Bless,Heather

Have everyone invited bring a meal,drink or desert...or hire a favorite resteraunt to serve the meal with thier food...
