Looking for best airlines for direct flight from LAX to Beijing. Heard smoking allowed on Air china in either cabin or by pilots in cockpit. Any recommendations for GOOD airlines for that flight, even if just one stop...? How is Air Canada? Looking especially for best legroom and in seat entertainment to pass the time.

Smoking is not allowed on Air China's international flights. Air Canada is a lot better both in service and legroom!

Smoking is NOT allowed on Air China. Period. I have been flying on Air China for over 3 years now - my last flight was 3 days ago...and I can state that
a) Smoking is not allowed by regulation
b) I have not seen any person trying to brake that regulation

So you can safely assume that you will not encounter smoking.
Happy Travels!

Most airlines will not allow smoking on the airplanes, so therefore, it is not very likely. I know for sure that China Eastern will not allow smoking.

SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED ON ANY FLIGHT ANYWHERE. That's a thing of the past. And especially on Air Canada - a great airline!

Um... hello!? You will be flying at 30,000 feet or more for more than 12 hours and you're just a few feet away from the engines and fuel. A gun is an easier, cheaper and faster way to commit suicide or to kill people.

And think about those poor people stuck with you and that smoke will have no way of coming out. How can you even do that? Can't you even be more considerate?

To what I know, all airlines are non smoking even hardcore smokers like the Japanese. If you are sceptical about it, I recommend you give the airline a call. If they do confirmed it and you still find ppl smoking aroung those areas then you could immediately call for the Sr cabin crew!

If you can't even smoke on trains or buses, how can airplanes be any different?
