An excellent question. I don't think it's a matter of who learns more as BOTH learn in a student-teacher relationship. I know this is true because I am a parent. I can honestly say that my children have taught Me more than anyone in my life. That being said, a true teacher is not the one with the most knowledge, but one who causes the most others to have knowledge.

Everyone is a messenger. Everything you think, say and do is a message. Your whole life is your teaching. We are all both teachers and students.

well, I think that when you start to prepare as a teacher you do learn a lot more about the subject. The process of research allows you to learn more on the subject than you knew.
The student in most cases learns only what the teacher teaches. If the student is interested in the subject they may go on and research for himself later.

They both are in need of learning. The student learns by listening, but so does a good teacher. When the teacher speaks, the wisdom comes thru them, not from them, & they are the first to hear the answer. They are often learning at a different {for lack of a better term} level, but by accessing Truth & speaking it they are deeping their own understanding & roots in that Truth. It is said we teach best what we need to learn most. There really is not more to learn, we just need to learn it more.

In a good classroom with a good teacher they learn from each other.

You shouldn't stop learning just because you have graduated or believe yourself to be an adult. A person should continue to grow and learn the rest of their life.
