Hi,

I am growing hair and want to trim my hair very little and also remove the broken, damaged hair. But when I say this to a hairdresser, she doesn't understand.

What's the best way to tell this, or is there a term for this process? Basically a maintenance cut for someone growing hair.

Thanks!

Tell her to cut no more than one inch from your hair. If she doesn't know how much that is, take a ruler with you. I go to the same lady and I tell her to trim only and she understands.

Telling them to cut off the dead ends could be a bad idea because they could be more severe than just an inch depending on how long it has been since you've had a trim or cut.
