Just find a kinda "manly" name for the puppy then put a girly twist on it. For example my boyfriend named our english bulldog Brewtus, but I call him Brew Bear. It kinda rubbed off on my boyfriend too, because when our dog does something cute or sweet he calls him brew bear.

Check out Norse, Roman and Greek god names, Zeus, Apollo, Vulcan, Thor, my favorite Loki. Non god names, Samson, Brody, Guiness, Diesel, Devo. Be careful in naming a Rottie mix (mine is named Gator) - we all shudder when we hear Cujo or Shredder - people worry enough when they even see a Rott look approaching. Tough names just magnify their (unjustified) fear.
