I believe having sex with a boy who is 5 is considered rape. If you are such an LDS expert, I would think that you would know that he is not associated with the mainstream LDS church. He is a the leader of a controversial Mormon fundamentalist polygamist sect known as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS Church).
No I have read the criminal complaint- you obviously haven't. You are also trying to slander an entire religion with misinformation using the guise of being an LDS expert.
Using your logic Rev. Phelps follows the tenets of Christianity, therefore all Christianity is evil.
Warren Jeffs' nephew, Brent Jeffs alleges that in the late 1980s his uncle sodomized him in the Salt Lake Valley compound then owned by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS).

Every now and then the forces of conformity flex their muscles without regard to principles. This young girl was pressured into marriage--not raped. Plenty of people growing up in small towns have experienced similar types of pressure. And they either stand up to it--and run from it--or they don't. That's what distinguishes the strong from the weak. But of course, society is also capable of going that-away (as opposed to this-away) and at such times throws out public morality altogether. That's what makes this sort of show trial so hypocritical. And what about the marriages that were successful? I don't say Warren Jeffs is a good man or that his cult is not a blight on the landscape but I think this case sends a wrong message about individual responsibility. In related news, the media claims teenage boys have been expelled from the cult--implying it is to appropriate "their" women for old men. But an offense like habitually watching violent films is in their culture intolerable and it is also a pretty blatant show of disrespect. Those boys were not expelled by the cult but by their parents--with good cause. The entire social analysis that goes into the thinking about this subject is ham fisted. If Jeffs is guilty of sodomizing small children as some answers claim then that's what he should be on trial for--not arranged marriage and age of consent.

One of Jeff's arrests was for raping a 7 year old child...so you're saying that's OK because he's a member of a religious cult, accent on the cult? Mormonism and LDS are promoted solely for dirty old goats to rape children with the permission of the "church". Nevr put Jesus Christ and LDS in the same sentence; one is the Son of God, the other is a sick cult. Get your facts straight do some research and please, if you ever have children, give them up for adoption so you won't give them to old men for sex. You shouldn't be allowed to reproduce for stating Jeffs is innocent in the first place, you're as sick as he is.

I am LDS and Warren Jeffs is not party of my religion. He runs a cult that was marrying off teenage girls to older men, and that's sick. The LDS church does not practice polygamy. There are other polygamous cults out there who only use the Bible and say that since Abraham, and other Old Testament prophets had multiple wives it's okay, but are you going to say it's the Bible's fault and we should put it on trial. You are obviously not an LDS expert!

Warren Jeffs is a cult leader and resembles David Koresh in many ways. He claims to be the direct descendant of Jesus Christ.

LDS EXPERT!!!!!!!! That makes me LAUGH. You call your self an expert. You know that Polygomy was NEVER in the Book Of Mormon. Did you know that he did rape and did cause forsed marrages between people (what he called the law of selection, which ALSO Is NOT in the book of mormon, and was never practiced by the LDS church. There are no credentials behind you. JEFFS was going AGAINST what is taught in the book of mormon. Look in Alma, where Alma talks to his son about sexual purity. Jeffs went past that. He was not following that part of the book of mormon. When polygomy was introduced in the church it was by means of supporting one another, not for sex or sexual reasons. Once they got to utah, this form of Protection was recalled. Jeffs didn't live by that. He went and did what he wanted. There had been so many times where Incest has been reported in Jeff's Church. I beleve that you shouldn't call your self an expert unless you know what you are talking about.
