because the Jews only belive in the old testament... they do not believe Jesus was God's child... they think he was a prophet.. but not the Messiah...

You know....I always have a problem calling the "chosen people" "Israelites"....there are so many others whom were "Israelites" as well...so, in my mind it is just the Jews...or rather, Abraham's descendants, that hold that place of "honor" :)

Quite a few of the Jewish people DO acknowledge Jesus as the "Messiah"...but, the others were expecting the Messiah to come when it was time for them to join the Lord in the Promised Land and eliminate Satan, etc.,. once and for all... so, when Jesus came, even though He came with the "Sword of Truth" and God's Holy Spirit, He didn't stay around to do what the Jews expected....and many had ignored the fact that God had said He was opening the way for the Gentiles in the early days of the Torah or our "Old Testament"....kind of steals their thunder, I believe, because God isn't all theirs anymore, ...of course, that's my own personal opinion... They just aren't looking at the whole picture very well because they'd see that they were still the "elite" in every way. :)

Peace be with you all :)

Israel is God's own yet they have rejected Jesus Christ as their Messiah. Yet little do they know that their long awaited "Messiah" shall come but shall be Satan incarnate. He will cause everyone everywhere to receive a Mark under the skin of the right hand in order to buy or sell in alledgence to Him alone/ He will cause an order that he is to be worshipped yet 144.000 virgin Jewish men shall not bow their knee and the Antichrist shall not have power over them, around 12,000 men from each tribe of Israel. Yet Christ will return at the end of the Great Tribulation period and come to rule and reign and the True king of kings and the Lord of lords. And He will have Satan, the Antichrist and those who received His mark of ownership, into a bottomless pit for 1000 years while Christ, the true Messiah reigns..Yet the Jews as well as the Gentiles who have rejected Christ and died in their sins will not enter the promised Land of God's kingdom, so the Jews are the most deceived from this truth..Go to trumpetmin.org and click -could this be the "Mark?

This is like asking if Jesus is the real Son of God then why don't all Christians have wings?

First of all, they weren't called the Israelites until much later. And they were never really the -chosen- people. God made a deal with Abraham that he would give him many descendants if they (the descendants) would serve him (God). Today there are THREE major religions based on that promise, and they make up the bulk of the population of the world, so at least part of that turned out to be true.

(Some) Jews like to think God favors them, that this is just some kind of birthright for having been born Jewish. But that's not what the story says at all. And to be fair, (many) Christians and Muslims also think their faith entitles them to special privileges, both in this life and afterwards. But I see these all as self-indulgent, self-congratulatory misinterpretations of the actual promise made by God. Go read it for yourself if you really want to know.

And just for starters, notice that God didn't say anything about 'Israelites' or 'Hebrews' or even 'Jews'. He was talking about Abraham's descendents.

What does one thing have to do with another?

We are the Chosen People (or more accurately, the choosing people).

We are waiting for the Messiah. He's due any time before the Jewish year 6000.

I still don't see the contradiction.

Because Jesus did not fulfill all the requirements they were promised in a Messiah---including permanent world peace. It even tells the Jews to kill any man who says he is God.

They are still waiting for their Messiah because their own Torah was misrepresented and mis-taught by the Scribes, Priests, and Pharisees at the time of Jesus.

They were hoping for a Savior to free them from Roman occupation of their land, instead of freeing them from the consequences of a sinful life.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. the Jews refused to believe that Jesus was the begotten Son of God so that are waiting for another messiah. God chose them as HIS people but they refused to believe

Because they believe there's more than one
Messiah, but they haven't yet decided which
is the better one.
As of 2007 C.E. (Common Era), the Israelites
began waiting for the Later Day Saint Fred.

Lol that is great! Al hamdoullah.
There was those choosen when Moses when to get the book and the commandments they transgressed beyond the limits of help from the Lord. There was some select few that left and are still in grace of the Lord.
