To members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - have you asked yourself as I have - why was I born into the church when my friend down the street was not?
We should not be ashamed to boldly declare that this church is the actual true church that Christ Himself restored to the earth- the world needs to know it. For nearly 2000 years, true priesthood authority was not on the earth, until it was restored in 1830 (http://www.lds.org/portal/site/LDSOrg/menuitem.b3bc55cbf541229058520974e44916a0/?vgnextoid=32c41b08f338c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=f71a7befabc20110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&hideNav=1&contentLocale=0).
It's Christ's church, not ours. Anyone who becomes worthy can be baptized and join. But why was I born into an LDS family when my neighbor was not? I kind of doubt it was because I was more vailant in the pre existence - there are far better people in this world than me who are not members of the church.

Oregon- where should I read? email or pm me.
Lucid- there's no official doctrine that I know of about that- I personally think we might have had some input but it probably wasn't ultimately our decision.
oso-loco- cool name. I also believe many others will be saved, but eventually they will need to receive ordinances such as baptism from one with proper authority, either in this life or the next. It'd be better to accept it in this life of course, but all will have another chance. There are so many other blessings as well in the church, but these saving ordinances are definitely among the most important. Pm or email me if you'd like further discussion.

Im not LDS< but this question got me wondering. Im familiar a little bit with your doctrine of pre-existence, do you in your pre-existence get to choose your families? Or do you believe God chooses for you, or is it completely random?

I was converted into the Church, so why me? The point is not just that we are in the "Church". It matters what we do about it. I think it is best to boldly declare by example. We are on this earth because we are not yet perfect.

Take care to speculate about the pre existence. To each of us Heavenly Father has given a different path, so that we could learn and grow. In some ways being born in the church could be a short cut for those less "valiant". Is a lottery winner really blessed by God?

Check the record. Joseph Smith (I lived near Palmyra NY) was known to be a con-man,grifter and thief. Tablets, what tablets? And don't try to equate him w/ Saul/Paul or whatever. A tax collector was an honest vocation then as it is now.I tried to read that book once. It was like rying to read a 12 year-old's attempt at writing in Bible-ese. This whole "my way is the true way" trip, is the reason for all the strife in the world.Satan is the engineer of Distraction.Divide and conquer!

There will never be just one true church as you say ...... But a common belief in the Jesus Christ and a heart felt relationship with the father and holy spirit is all one needs....I bet there are as many LDS followers as nondenominational believers that are saved ..Organized religion is in all facets of the church ..So I think we ought to stop saying there's only one true denomination
and say that there's true believers from all walks of life... I am not connected to any one building of people but to the one who has created life's existence!

By boldly declaring your church is the "true church," you are forgetting to read God's Word, which totally wipes out LDS doctrine.

READ IT, dear one! You have been deceived! Jesus is NOT the brother of Lucifer! You will NOT be a god in the next life! There is ONLY one God!
