There is no point in trying to force your daughter in giving up her stroller or pacifier as it can bring on stress, and if you ban it from when she goes to daycare it may bring on a bad experience of day car. Your daughter will more than likely not be the only child there who will still have their little comforts. The childcare workers there will be comfortable with it and its easier just to faze it out in small doses your daughter will give it up in her own time and more than likely learn from other children at the daycare center. Oh ya encouragement goes a hell of a long way and your daughter will need it!!

I would take away the pacifier. You dont want other kids taking it and putting it in there mouth. I am confused on the stroller. Why would you need to take it away? Do you leave her in it all the time? Why would you bring it to the daycare? Does she walk on her own? If she does then I wouldnt worry about the stroller. Use it as long as you want. You dont want her to get too tired from walking.

You should have her off the pacifier in the daytime by three years old regardless of whether she's going to daycare - it may affect her speech development.

The stroller isn't an issue, I wouldn't have thought - are the daycare going to be taking her out on long walks? But again, by three she should be walking most everywhere unless she has medical issues.

Yeah,my children were off the pacifier at 9 months. Only used it when they were vulnerable as newborns and had lots of crying spells. It is recommended u take children off the pacifier by 4 to reduce the chances that your child will get bucked teeth and have a misaligned jaw. The stroller, not necessarily but it is a good idea. As your child gets older she will be used to getting toted around in the stroller instead of walking *walking is also very good exercise for toddlers*.Its best to just take the pacy away all at once instead of gradually,my children cried for only 1 day without it and got over it fairly quickly.she will cry for a little while but dont give in,give her toys, candy etc to keep her mind off of it. the stroller isnt as important right now but i would definitely wean her from that also and let her get used to her little legs..good luck!

I think she should have been off of the pacifier, but that's me personally-my daughter got rid of hers at about 11mos. What exactly does it mean to be off of her stroller? I mean as long as she can walk...who cares if you still use a stroller for her-my daughter is 2 going on 3, and still rides in a stroller occasionally.

yes! you should have done that earlier in preparation for her schooling. my son never use a pacifier. i started taking off the stroller when he started walking at 14 months. he is now 3.5 yr old.

You do not have to. However, most daycares will not allow her to ride in a stroller. But...they can help you wean your child off the pacifer and the stoller habit may disappear on its own when she sees the other kids not using one.

pacifier should be taken away at age 2 at the latest.

Stroller is ok to use when going on long walks but for short walks you should let her hold your hand and walk.

Ask the Director of the Day Care Center, each one may have a different policy.
