Too bad, G. Mendel wasn't born yet then.

Assuming I am white, I'd throw my wife out of the window if she had a black baby!

Because God made it that way.

I thought this was quite interesting. The following was a bulletin I found posted on myspace.com:

" Darwin said: "As many more individuals of each species are born than can possibly survive; and as, consequently, there is a frequently recurring struggle for existence, it follows that any being, if it vary however slightly in any manner profitable to itself, under the complex and sometimes varying conditions of life, will have a better chance of surviving, and thus be naturally selected. From the strong principle of inheritance, any selected variety will tend to propagate its new and modified form" (Darwin, 1975, p. 27). Darwin wrote this in 1859.

We can look at artificial breeding, which has been closely monitored, and we can learn more about the selection that happens naturally in nature. Here is a quote from Cindy Vogels, an experienced dog breeder and breeder judge:

"Dogs are generally thought to have descended from wolves. Kim Campbell Thornton's recent article "Looking Back to the Beginning" (AKC GAZETTE, September 1999) describes research that has determined, through DNA sequences, that the dog breeds of today descended from only a few familiar ancestors. Although Thornton notes the difficulty in accurately dating the exact emergence of specific breeds, it is apparent that over thousands of years, man has created hundreds of breeds from a small gene pool of original dogs. While some breeds - examples include Greyhounds, Basenjis, Mastiffs and Norwegian Elkhounds - can be traced back to ancient times, most breeds have evolved over the last few hundred years, and many are still undergoing significant changes" (Vogels, 2007, para. 1).

I will place the link to this American Kennel Club article on the bottom of this writing. Vogels (2007) has titled her article "The Evolution of Breeds," yet in her honesty she has let the cat out of the bag. From her great experience in artificial breeding we learn that all dogs are thought to have descended from wolves, a very small gene pool. What has occurred is perfectly the opposite of Darwin's assertions. What we see is a genetically information-rich original breed from which all others breeds today have selectively borrowed certain genes and disregarded others. This is actually an example of contra-evolution. With each new branch of breed, the information becomes more and more diminished as information is selected out, not more and more rich as Darwin suggested.

This is also how humans have become so diverse, all branches of humanity following ancestry back to our original, information-rich parents. If we know scientifically that this has occurred in dogs, why do we find it so difficult to believe regarding the human population? Completely contrary to Darwin's theory, evidence points back to highly-complex ancestors who served as a gene base, not less-evolved species.

Questions, comments, and criticisms all welcome.

You could take a group of Africans and they would have the genetic ability to have blond blue descendents after many generations. So I assume your wife could have a black baby.

You've got it all wrong... Everyone got wiped out about 2200 BC in Noah's flood. So we are dealing with a pool of 8 people from about 4200 years ago... I asked about a week ago, and most christians told me this "was not a problem". Apparently god "miracled" genetic diversity into humanity, but forgot to tell anyone so that they could put it into the bible...

Very good. very very good. I must remember that one. Of course they wouldn't have had a problem with black descendants as they were probably black anyway...

It sounds like you are trying to apply human logic to issues of faith.
It'll never work.

Mark 10:27
"And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."

DUR.... God flooded the Earth and Noah, his wife, his sons, and their wives repopulated the world...

As climates differ so do the tones of people's skins...

Why do you think black people come from Africa- cuz the darkness of their skin developed from the heat of their climate....
