hi i need help on working with a Nikon D40 DSLR camera.

1) i need to shoot 36 images exploring depth of field control. I must shoot a series of the same object. One image for every full f-stop on my lens. f/4, f/5.6 etc HOW DO I DO THAT?? where is it on the camera?

i then need to note the exposure for each image...because i need to to present it in class...now what is exposure in each image??

2) Then i need to shoot 36 images on Shutter Speed Control. 1/250, 1/125...etc. Probaly on things that have movemnt..Now where do i find the Shutter speed button on the camera??

THANKS

Find a nice quiet place, get comfortable and READ & STUDY the camera's Owner's Manual. Evertything you need to know to do your assignment is in there.

Your question is an excellent example of why, IMO, entry-level photography classes should be taught with a 100% manual SLR 35mm film camera. The f-stops are clearly marked on the lens barrel, the shutter speeds are a dial on top of the camera body.

Good luck.
