My dog Chippy just passed away. After 15 years of wonderful memories i can't believe that he's finally gone. Here's my problem, i live in an apartment building and don't know what i should do with his body. I wish i had a house with a backyard that i could bury him in.

Maybe i should just put him in the dumpster? Would it be offensive to other people if he was in there? I guess i could quarter him out (eww), and put him in some trashbags. I don't know what to do, help!

I'm reallly sorry, i love dogs:( But you can take him to the vet for cremation. You could perhaps then scatter the ashes in his favourite spot, or bury the ashes in a special pot under a nice plant- or is this a bit sentimental for you? If you put him in the dumpster he'll go to the tip probably- is that where you want 15 years worth of memories to go?Sorry that probly sounded mean but cremations are quite good- you can put his name on the pot and then bury him somewhere. Hope your ok, and it helps!

Check into pet cemetaries, cremate him or if there are no laws against it bury him on your property. There is something to be said for telling your pet goodbye. I don't think I could have one of my pets stuffed. But on my property in the country and when I lived in town I had a pet graveyard. I purchased stepping stones to place over the gravesites to keep the local animals (neighbors dogs) from digging up my pets. The stepping stones cost about $5.

Take his body to the pound/ dog shelter, I know in Columbus Ohio for some reason you are not allowed to throw the body away, let it be known the pound just throws them in the trash, maybe the city wants to know if a large animal is being picked up ,it has alot to do with criminal cases. Depending on the area they may charge to pick the body up

I would say sorry but apparently he didn't mean much if you can just dump him or quarter him.
where i live you have two choices by law and that is bury it or take to the vets and have them dispose of it, or have it cremated and keep the ashes.
Oh or you could take it to a taxidermist and have the body stuffed and saved

If you're wanting to "chop him in quarters and put him in trash bags in the dumpster", then you apparently don't have very fond memories of him.

Best thing to do would be cremate him. It's cheap, and you can keep him with you forever (ashes)

You might want to do something very soon....for more reasons than one

Have you considered calling the humane society or animal protective association??? You may have to pay a small donation or fee but they should take the body.

creamation is the best way , even if you had a house with a backyard if you were to move he would still be in that backyard.
we had our 120 lb black lab creamated and his ern sits on our dressed that way if we move we can take him with us. it does not cost that much it was under $200.00 and it was very much worth it he has a nice ern.

First off, I'm sad to hear of this.

Secondly, you could have him cremated. That way, he would still be with you no matter where your life's journey takes you.

Thirdly, if you are attempting to be funny by suggesting to throw him in the dumpster, you have failed miserably.
