If I look in other YA sections I don't find nearly the volume of antagonism toward anything as much as I find antagonism here. Why expend so much effort and time trying to disprove something you don't believe in? It kind of makes you wonder who or what is influencing these people, doesn't it? Maybe there's no stronger evidence that Satan exists than what we read right here in Religion and Spirituality.

Since they do not know God, they do not know Love. Their hearts are cold and hollow, and want to make those who believe lose faith and be cold just as they are. They deep down long to believe in something but the world and all its knowledge have erased any hope or living faith in their being. The don't want to believe because they don't want to answer to anyone who has a higher power over them as well. This is where they call us Christians brain washed. I am not brain washed I am happy, completed, and no matter how many times they try to convince me there is no God, my heart, faith, and love towards him tells me different. God Bless.

First i'm going to pre-face: i'm agnostic, even however I lean a splash extra in the direction of the atheist area. i don't think of that technological expertise "disproves God", whether it does disprove particular religions - or no less than, particular factors of religion. the factor with Christianity is that this is imprecise. There are literalists, who think of that each be conscious in the Bible is quite genuine. For a literalist, the Bible is unlike minded with evolution. thus, evolution disproves Christianity. whether, there are others who see the Bible as extra of a metaphor, and to not be taken actually. For those human beings, you would be Christian and have faith in evolution. for sure there are some (in general now non-existent religions) like the Greek pantheon, that are patently disproved with the aid of faith. We for sure comprehend now what motives lots of the flaws that the Greeks used faith to describe. all of us comprehend what motives volcanoes, storms, the changing of seasons, etc. To the Greeks, they mandatory to make up Gods and Goddesses to describe those issues, in view that they had no different clarification. for my area, based on the above paragraph, faith is basically this: a potential to describe the flaws which you do not understand or won't be able to clarify. i think of that the Bible become meant to be taken actually (whilst it become written), and that the "this is in basic terms a metaphor" is a style of "adaptive tactic" to permit Christians who think of evolution sounds sensible to accept as true with the two issues at as quickly as. the factor is, on an identical time as technological expertise can disprove particular religions, it won't be able to, nor will it ever be waiting to disprove the existence of God or different gods. there is in basic terms not something we are in a position to do - there is not any try which will let us know if a God exists or not. whether we did by some potential locate out that the great bang become brought about with the aid of a while-warping alien race, then human beings will ask: "properly a God might have created those time-warping extraterrestrial beings." this is an infinite capture 22 venture, and one that could in no way quite be replied. So in precis: technological expertise/evolution won't be able to disprove God, whether it may disprove religions. for this reason, technological expertise and God can stay alongside one yet another, and technological expertise and faith can stay alongside one yet another watching the religion.

I've never tried to disprove the existence of something for which there is no testable evidence.

You sound frightened and angry. Is your faith wobbling or are you taught to lash out?

I'm an atheist whose best friend is a wild, leaping and singing Pentacostal. Why? Not because of his faith but because of his character and mutual interests in math, biology and other sciences. He's originally from Africa and is baffled that American Christians can't accept the realities of science, such as all biological evolution, not just human.

Nobody is trying to 'disprove' the existence of god. That is logically impossible... just like it is logically impossible to disprove that there is a teapot in orbit around the sun, opposite the earth. Nope... can't do that. We're just tring to show people that belief in dieties is rooted in (and dependent upon) gullibility, irrationality, willful ignorance, self-delusion, intellectual dishonesty, hypocrisy and drooling stupidity. We do it because we are concerned about our country and about humanity... and we don't think that having a country where 85% of the population is delusional is a good thing. It's a mental-health emergency, you see.

Think about this... REALLY... THINK... you believe that a cosmic Jewish zombie, who is his own father, can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced, by a talking snake with legs, to eat a piece of fruit from a magical tree... (etc.)... and that there is something horribly wrong with people who ARE NOT so gullible and droolingly stupid as to believe such outrageously ridiculous codswallop.

NEWS FLASH... that is insane...

... and we're just trying to help.

Do you really think people will be stupid enough to allow Christianity superiority to rule the world without proof, but mountains of evidence against any god deity?

Or do you think that those who don't believe will actually have the guts to put their foot down and say "no" so that the Christians don't rule their lives?

Use your brain, not your bible.

I think there is more evidence of a God than not. I will post when I am able to find the atheist doctor who for many years disbelieved, and now finds himself a believer. He has all the evidence in his book.

trying to make the world a better place - actually trying to disprove religion - no God so no religion telling people to kill in the name of God

i'd be happy enough if religion didn't trump common sense and tolerance..

My curiousity is more as to why some folks are concerned, in the least, with what goes on here? The entirely irrelevant exhaulted to a position of ultimate seriousness? My fascination with religion in general and this circus in particular.

Your post is antagonistic. Nobody can prove whether God exists. You are experiencing people that have a Belief Not Yours. Get over yourself.

Go to politics if you want to see antagonism.
