Several reasons...
1) Man is fallen and people fail (often badly) at trying to be like Christ.
2) Some people say they are Christians but just simply in no way really are... they don't act that way, they don't talk that way and they have no real faith in God....ie they aren't really Christians.
3) God is love and those that are real Christians are still human... and let's face it no one is perfect.. that's why we are to worship God and follow Jesus.

Because they are Hippocrates. They say if some one slap you turn to other cheek also. It is not natural. May be one out of million will do that. Instead of turning other cheek, most Christians kill that person. During every war people in Bars often say 'Nuke them', bomb them etc. etc. They say love they neighbor. How many of you love your neighbor. They never like to talk to a neighbor if he Black, Mexican, Asian or from middle east or India. They hate them all. If 20% of them buy houses in neighborhood, white people flee from the
neighborhood.
Isnn't it true. On the other hand Islam says, if someone hurts you, it is better that you forgive him/her. If you can't and must hit him back so he doesn't encouraged to hit again, then you should hit him only as hard as he did to you. If you hit him harder than he hit you, then you will be oppressor and will have to answer God for that extra oppression of yours.
Which one more sense?

Check this out for interesting reading.
By a wide margin, respondents believe Americans think Muslims are the most likely to engage in terrorism (83 percent). Forty-two percent think Americans would be most concerned about their child dating a Muslim, followed by an atheist (17 percent) and a Mormon (14 percent). A quarter blamed Protestants or other Christian affiliations for a prejudiced society, followed by Muslims (20 percent).
I could care less if someone is black, blue, white, or striped. The "inner man" is most important.

Maybe it's because religious organizations are preaching hate and prejudice against other religions. The Catholic Church cries out that it is the only true religion, they set a poor example for their congregations. Other religions are almost as bad in this respect. In fact they depend on fear, not love, to get their followers to toe the line.

In a word, rebellion.
People rebel against how God told us to live, so what can you expect, except prejudice and racism?
Sad, isn't it.
But if everybody would take the words of Jesus seriously, to love your enemies, this truly WOULD be a better place to live. It's just too bad people reject Jesus. Hmmmm.

united states of america of america hasn't been "inspired and guided" by utilizing Christian ideas, as you position it. united states of america of america has been "inspired and guided" by utilizing the foundations that "all adult men were created equivalent", and that all of us has the right to "existence, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". the position slavery matches into all that, i don't understand. I wasn't there. you've were given to remember, nonetheless, like Joseph from the Bible, many slaves that were transported to the Colonies from Africa, were offered into slavery by utilizing their own households. No, that would not make it top on every person's area, yet even nonetheless the white adult men might want to shoulder the almost each of the blame, someone offered them into slavery, and they ought to might want to own area of it.
