Don't crush the pill until you check with the pharmacy first. Some pills/tablets, are not meant to be crushed.
Put the pill in a sandwich, as someone else suggested. Or even into ice cream.

If you do crush the pills or mix them with food in any way, be honest with your child that they are there. You can empathize with them regarding the yuckiness of taking pills, then work with them to find a solution that works for them.
My son finally hit upon crushing them up & mixing them with a spoonful of frosting when he was 4 years old. It worked.
He's 7 now and all last winter took a preventative pill every day. At one point, we ran out of frosting & he just learned to do it straight. He's so proud of himself, now.

How old is your son? I have been on medication ALL my life and trust me it was the most HORRIBLE thing for my parents because i absolutely REFUSED to take them no matter what. I am 24 and still have a hard time with meds. Even my sister called me and asked me for advice on this one yet my niece is only 2. I need to know your child's age to help you with tricks...they get older then learn and you have to become tricker. Please let me know age and iWill be MORE then happy to help you.
