When do i claim my baby on taxes? My due date isnt until the end of november. Do i file this year or next?

The year he takes his first breath of air.

If he's born 12/30/07 then you can claim him for the whole year. If born 1/1/08, then you can only claim him on your 08 taxes.

Even December 31, 2007 is OK to claim the child in 2007.

As long as your baby is born before midnight on Dec. 31 you can claim him/her on your 2007 taxes for the entire year.

You can take that for this year, a child born before Dec 31 at 12 am, is considered to have lived with you all year.

If the child is born alive anytime in 2007, the child can be claimed for 2007.
