Question: is cult religion wrong?

Question Details: Ok so everytime I talk...[question text deleted]

Deleted Answer: There are several definitions of cults, but generally you could consider LDS as a cult but you could also consider it as a religion in it's own right. The things I use to determine the difference are Are they public or secretive? Do they seem to brainwash their followers? Is there a central leader that is personally revered more than anyone/thing else. Do they strongly resist their followers leaving? Do they seem to have a fanatical loyalty. There are probably better tests but these cover the basics and try to identify whether a cult/group is dangerous. It would be helpful if you could post the name of the religion/cult/group. The can't eat pepperoni is really weird.

Yes, I appealed it. Sorry, I should have added that along with that I'm not too worried, but I do like to know that I haven't really screwed up without knowing out it.

No, I thought this forum was the place to ask questions? It looks like anyone who does not like what you said or has an ax to grind can report you for any reason. I think they STILL need to revamp their system of reporting until anyone can ask a valid question without fear of being reported for no reason. I have tried to appeal my questions and they did not respond to me at all. I received no answer as to what violation I broke ....nothing! I did not see anything offensive to your question.

So why are you using LDS as an example of a cult? You obviously know nothing about the religion, there are other mainstream religions that I would consider to be more cult-like than Mormonism, like say the churches that put anti-mormonism into their sermons. I wouldn't report you I just don't think you know what you are talking about.

I don't report questions /answers, so no.

It doesn't violate anything, but with YA's reporting system, anyone can report you several times, and they can set up multiple accounts and reporrt you with those as well. Alot of people on YA just report you because they don't like your opinions.

There are folk who are constantly reporting my questions /answers, stalking me around. Don't let it bother you. Just be ready to make another account, because the trolls will probably eventually get your account suspended, by reporting you all the time.

The report abuse system is a joke. Just laugh, I guess. :-)

Go with God.

I don't really see anything wrong with the answer you gave, except that Mormons don't like to be referred to as a cult. You gave a proper definition of cults in the answer, as far as I can tell. As to what it violates - with the way they change the rules around here, who knows?

It sounds like a cult...

Jesus never made anyone follow Him. He gave us free will. This religion she has requires her to follow laws, Jesus requires us to follow Him (Big Difference) Religion will put people in hell more efficiently than sin. And those leaders will receive greater punishment. Cults will lead people to death i.e. Jones town, Waco etc. Cult groups are very dangerous, and anyone saying that they have to be a part of their select group or they will go to hell is a sure sign of a cult. Intimidation by terror and fear is a key factor in cult groups. Hellfire and brimstone is also a way to get people to repent from sin, but Jesus only opened Himself for people to be freed from the power of hell. Only by a personal relationship with Jesus will people be saved and everything else is religiosity destined for destruction. Anyone who thinks their religion or traditions will save them are accursed, because their is no power in it to save them from judgment...only by the blood of Jesus.

Well..guess you solved a question I've wondered about. The Catholic church isn't a cult...it doesn't give a flip if it's members leave...they never even ask why.

I will give you a star since I can't give you a kiss.!!!!!!!!!

Nope - but likely you got reported by a reporter troll, who doesn't like your answer and it's presentation.

There is no valid reason to have this reported.

Hint:
"A cult is a religion with no political power."

"Religions have power over the behaviour of
people within their respective communities."

that's the way it is here... things get deleted because someone didn't like it... grow a thicker skin, as the reporting problems won't change
